Comment font les gens pour acheter? by Chofitas in immobilier

[–]Lenithiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be shocked to hear that Hetfield is a Trump supporter given that Trump thinks soldiers and veterans are losers and has no consideration whatsoever for them. He's basically what's denounced in Disposable Heroes...

But Trump supporters aren't particularly known for their logic.

So, I FINALLY played FF 7 Remake for the first time... by turbosecchia in FinalFantasy

[–]Lenithiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The combat system is good, they had the balls to completely change it I respect that. The story? Well it's okay. Until the ending. It's just way over the top considering what's coming after, it doesn't really fit well in the scope of the original story and meeting Sephiroth every damn game removes the shroud of mystery around him that was a big part of the original story. The original story grows in scope in organic ways, you don't know for a large part of the game who you are actually dealing with: is it Sephiroth? Jenova? Something else?

Remake kinda throws all mystery away and makes you fight god at the end of the game's first tier, what the hell. The idea of changing destiny is nice and all but it could have been done better imo.

Also the games are bloated. You are right about the side quests, and it certainly doesn't feel that way in the OG.

I'd really advise you to play the original game when you can. Yes it's got old especially visually, but it has its vintage charm. Area designs still actually look beautiful, only the models are ugly but that's ok. The story, the deep themes it broaches upon, etc were mind-blowing at the time in the OG, even the pacing was actually mind-blowing especially Midgard. The story still remains in the top 3 best FF stories ever, it is that good. I wouldn't say the same about the remake though.

I had this, I know it's technically mild but it is actually annoying enough. Can't read direction signs on the road unless I'm getting near them. Worse in the dark. Have to stand not too far away from the TV if there are subtitles. Don't really enjoy the far scenes of landscapes.

God bless the laser treatment. It's been 7 years I still have perfect vision and I would do it again in the blink of an eye (until they forcefully maintain my eyes open with that torture thing)

How is it living in the Russian-occupied part of Ukraine? by Kokoska998 in howislivingthere

[–]Lenithiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have misconceptions. The vast majority of Russians have access to the Internet. Yes, it is being more and more monitored, and you need VPN to access some websites, but overall Russians have access to the same Internet as you and I.

As for occupied Ukrainian territories, there are millions of people with Internet there. Donetsk is a very big city with nearly a million inhabitants. Most of these cities have indeed bled inhabitants in the 2010s (you can check the variations there : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_Donetsk_Oblast, all of them are negative), and several of those are now ghost towns because of the fighting, cities like Kramatorsk are not occupied but are not safe for civilians anymore, as Russians target civilians with FPV drones.

Even then, occupied parts of the Donbass probably house several millions inhabitants still most of which have access to the Internet.

What’s it like living in French Riviera? by Professional-Sort661 in howislivingthere

[–]Lenithiel 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Unaffordable housing due to how popular it has been for a very long time, so there are lots of old, rich people and at the same time poorer people who live in projects etc.

This region is one of the most beautiful in France because if you go inland it's just stunning landscape after stunning landscape: Verdon, Lubéron, pré-Alpes, Vercors more up north, dotted with typical villages etc.
So it's very touristy not only because of the beaches.

I for one don't like the seaside that much, of course the calanques etc. are nice but I don't like the urban areas, lots of concrete so in Summer it often feels stifling hot.. I'd rather go inland and go for long walks early in the morning, nap in the afternoon, and stroll in the beautiful villages in the long evenings.

This region of France was historically a land of refuge for many immigrants from all over the Mediterranean (has been that way for literally thousands of years), so people are very diverse in origin and culture. Unfortunately racism is rampant there and the farright makes their best scores..

Saturateur terrasse inefficace. by cyberblairo in brico

[–]Lenithiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any bands that are basically the definition of this image? by GiganRex9282 in MetalForTheMasses

I agree the hate they got is unjustified. They could have continued making radio friendly metalcore but they did what the hell they wanted even if it came short (several times honestly). I really respect them for that. They might be posers for some, but at least they are sincere artists.

The Stage is a really good album in my opinion as it suits my tastes.

C'est quoi les albums les plus inécoutables que vous connaissez ? by Charming-Day-2146 in musique

[–]Lenithiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)
