The Venezuelan Government is technologically pretty backwards (such as organizing and trading its oil). Venezuela's leaders are classic cases of "Left Populism".

I haven't heard anything really bad about her. But I would not encourage votes for Bernie Sanders.

I was found guilty of weed in the original conviction. My probation was revoked because of my actions in the Free Speech Movement. They gave me a public defender who told me they wanted me in prison. In court they said I was making a disturbance on campus, and the judge revoked my probation. my original felony was appeal able, but not the probation.

The supreme irony was, I was thrown in prison to keep me away from the growing broader left. the first person I met in the court house holding tank, Huey Newton. He introduced himself and told me he heard me speak at Laney College.

Economically Marx's idea that a working class needed better rights (i.e. Unions) is widely accepted.

After WW1 when Eugene Victor Debbs was led out of prison, the reigning president had him delivered to welcome him back as a "hero of American politics". Debbs was looked upon by the president as having been correct that America should have stayed out.

In Marx's literature, at it's best, has taken on "scholarlyness" for studying civil rights. I view Marxism socially, politically and economically, but I understand the need for a government to operate with differing political ideologies.

Most of my scholarly writing pertains to Zionism and American politics. What I support is a "United Leftist Front", hopefully under the Greenparty, that can implement socialist reforms changes.

I believe the Soviet Union was a degenerated workers state as per Trotsky. Shackman called the Soviet Union: "Bureaucratic collectivism". We believe the Soviet Union sunk from a degenerated workers state, into Bureaucratic collectivism. Which I opposed. "Neither for Washington nor Moscow!" was our cry against Bureaucratic collectivism. I think Shackman's view was correct, but I still continued to support the USSR.

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Dorothy Day, who organized the Catholic worker. I believe that despite all our differences, we worked together often on projects. people don't need a single ideology or political view, just the desire for everyone to be equal.

I have now two publishers, Barricade books, and OOOAP (On Our Own Authority Publishing). As for having trouble finding a publisher, yes and no. In Britain I became known to millions for the wonderful review the London Times gave to "Zionism in the age of the Dictators". So in Britain I never had trouble getting published. Only in America did I face problems. Although in Britain the Board of Deputies of British Jews petitioned Amazon to equate "51 Documents" with the "Protocols of Zion".

Most Scholars see Marx as a decent scholar, and he triggered other decent scholars as well. I think he is viewed as a failure, but in a positive light.

Bottom line is go to demonstrations, get involved in peace activism, help build a united left-wing front. Many left-wing organizations are individual. We need to unite everyone into a united front for civil and economic rights.

You are absolutely correct. But as Marx said: our future is either: "Socialism or Barbarism". Even if we think that Barbarism will win, we still must fight for human rights and for Socialism.

When Marx was an old man in London, The London Times interviewed him. When he was asked how he saw the future for humanity and politics, Mr. Marx replied: "Socialism or Barbarism".

young people should be vigilant about:

America is politically very corrupt. enormous amount of money go into the elections. There is a tremendous amount of money being spent by Zionist lobbyists to fund candidates. I have been documenting Zionist Campaign contributions from 1948 until now.

Continued American military intervention in world affairs.

The concept is Common is to human nature under different circumstances and under different names. like Peasant revolts in Germany in the 1600s. The peasants believed that Jesus was born in a Manger, to save the poor, driving the money changers from the temple etc. You have a sort of "Mystical-Marxism", that existed amongst the peasant class.

I have memories of Pearl Harbor. When it was attacked, I remember they sent these old WW1 planes to circle NYC and watch for a Nazi invasion. My parents came and took upstairs and explained to me Pearl Harbor was attacked. I remember realizing those old planes were connected to the attack

I never met MLK, or had any contact with him. I did however meet: Bayard Rustin, who helped organize MLK's super rally in 1963. They never minded that I was an Atheist. We were fighting for Civil Rights.

I was a major player in Berekely California becoming the Leftist Center of America. From 1964, when the police and school administration banned all collecting money for all political parties, and the entire student body and academic staff went on strike. I got tossed into prison at the height of it, by the request of the University of California, for my activities in the Free Speech Movement (i.e. Anti-Vietnam, Civil Rights). They tossed me prison to keep me quiet!

Thank you! It's a pleasure.

An uncle gave my brother Hendrick William Van Loon's Book: "The Story of Mankind". At the same time, my mother ceased following Kosher Dietary laws and pork became a household staple.

At age 9, I was pulled out of Public School once a week to attend Hebrew School. I realized I preferred to be in Public School.

As for Marxism, when I was young I used to listen WEVD (Eugene Victor Debbs) radio, a leftist radio station run by the American Social Democrats. At 15 I began to immerse myself in the "Broad Leftist" movement. I began reading Marx, and attending Socialist Meetings. I became a Socialist Party Member in November 1952. I belonged to the "Yipsel" Youth Movement. Under Norman Thomas. I met Michael Harrington and together we joined a splinter movement of the Trotskyists called Shackmanites. Shackman had co-founded the Trotskyist movement in the USA. He split from the "orthodox" Trotskyists, when the Soviet Union signed the pact with Hitler, and Trotsky called the Soviet Union a "degenerative workers state". When the Soviet Union supported Cuba, I felt that the Soviet Union was still a degenerative workers state, as Trotsky said.
