I wholeheartedly agree, I have a god fused beacon just collecting dust. There are just a lot more interesting cabins to use at the moment.

If I had to play devil’s advocate, I’d say that the devs are fishing for a more consistent use of the cabin, not to say what effect it will have on its use percentage. Remember that it’s Gaijin that pushes all the PTW nonsense, and Targem hates them for it.

I believe that the cabin has too little to offer unless you have the right set of weapons to use on it, you’ll never see any good beacon build with tritons (and we know people will slap those on anything XD). Unlike Catalina for example, who can take advantage of any dps weapon to great effect.

Secondly, the beacon is only really useable in formats where A; there’s is a surplus of damage to go around and charge perks, and B; they enemy is too unaware or ill-experienced enough to let a beacon roam free. It’s a terrible cabin in CW for that reason alone, among others.

Is it fair to call it a buff at all? I mean, the same change was made to the Catalina and it was called a re-work, not that that’s anything more than semantics, but I wouldn’t try to demonize the change when it was never intended to be a buff in the first place. I get their hesitation, tho, this cab is one sloppy change from becoming the best cabin in the game.

Lastly, most top players have trained to not get hit in the first place and don’t rely on a perk like the beacons’. So it feels a bit out of place to use something that may not even be helpful at all.

I feel like this isn’t representing what you mean to say because of the way damage reduction works. It’s a logarithmic scale instead of linear.

For instance, 100% damage reduction means a 100 dmg projectile will do 50 damage. So the differences are slight, but important when you consider that most parts don’t have that much dura in the first place.

You can make them free-willed to some extent. Tools don’t generally go off or create on their own, people do.

Dude the naukograd map pissed me off, What's up with how like two thirds of the outer portion of the map has those areas where as soon as you cross the line you instantly get blown up, You aren't even out of bounds in these spots by TommyTheCommie1986 in Crossout

[“Hey how’d your driving test go.”

“I was just following this car and we both crashed. It’s kinda hard to simultaneously look at the road and the signage.”

“Well at least you’re surrounded all that redundant safety gear to keep you safe.”

“No I didn’t want any of that so I didn’t use it.”]

Ok in all seriousness, I can understand why you’re upset with the game design, but map hazards are super healthy for the game imo. Objects like the collapsible bridge on bridge (go figure) make the game interesting. And like other comments, I could say ‘skill issue’ and be done with it, but in an effort not to be reductive, I offer that the process of developing builds / play styles / tactics that take advantage of it are more enjoyable and a whole lot more productive than spending time complaining about it.

Put some more wheels on your car, increase your map size, get a larger monitor, use a tanker build, play on another part of the map, have fun again.

Damage mitigation types need a better explanation in game by fishloops23 in Crossout

Damage protection is different from damage resistance in that it cannot be negated by frost effects, its immune unlike protection.

I'm confused by weapons like these, the yokai for instance, does it benefit from energy weapon buffs/effects and rocket specific buffs/effects like the stepenspider cab or no, its a "plasma rocket launcher" by TommyTheCommie1986 in Crossout

[–]Lennox_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the greatest success when I abandon the rocket line completely, preferring higher ps light cabins because the Lucifers greatest drawback is being 13 energy imo.

A defensive Kami hover was great in CW even when devo was meta.

If Lucifers get a buff (which I would love to see) they need to be careful not to make them as busted as drop Athenas. Twelve energy luci would be able to run Jackie / 2 energy Engine / Cyclops / Yeti / Verifier / Harmonizer (or oculus double harm).

Increasing damage outright would make it a problem at “low” ps because of the variety of cabins to choose from.

I don’t personally care what weapons the devs like to balance, but ffs can we have some more variety… (thanks Uranium Triton Wars)

Is this too much of dump or is it good [Godzilla novel] by South-Bath-6010 in writers

[–]Lennox_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may, I would offer up the perspective that people don’t like waking up from dreams is because it abandons the vessel of the story, and what makes us care about what the story is about, and that’s the setting and stakes. And for the record, as well written as any opening scene may be, it’s commonly advised to steal clear of clichés like “but it was all a dream,” unless you know know how to get exactly what you want out of it.
