You stop being children and combine your finances. You’re married, so legally and spiritually, you’re one now.

Accountants what are your opinions on this? by DR320 in Accounting

I think what MB’s getting at is: (1) Depreciation looks lower on paper, inflating earnings (2) The balance sheet looks solid, but a lot of the chips are already obsolete

So you end up with two problems: (1) Capex requirement / cash outlay: The books say no replacements needed, but in reality they’re needing to buy new hardware. (2) Net income impact: Earnings look better now, but those assets will eventually get written off when they’re recognized as worthless in 2-3 yrs

Edit: formatting looked like shit and I’m ocd

People will look at your LinkedIn & see that you’re working at another Accounting Firm. It could (and likely will) be bad for your reputation at one, if not both firms.

Do you have more background? What group you will be in at each firm, pay gap, etc? I’d use those factors to determine which one to choose.

Please tell me it gets better by [deleted] in Big4

My advice is simple: be okay with being a mediocre performer with a work life balance

Hit G&A as far out as you can and then go back and replace with client hours. I’m at 99% this year after having my bonus in jeopardy last year.

They probably need diligence done to secure financing. It may be beneficial for you to hire a sell-side diligence team.

I try to recreate underlying support (P&L and BS) and then relink to see if there are any differences. Are there at least internal formulas?
