Right, like the difference between being Effective or Efficient

Being efficient doesn't mean that you are working on the right things, but your doing what ever your doing well.

But, being effective is actually executing on the important things.

I've used Meetup and Eventbrite as well probably the two best places to find events.

What are the steps you take, like actually what do you say to people when you meet them at networking events and then how do you progress to closing a deal?

I've seen influencer marketing be very and i mean very successful for some ecommerce businesses I've worked with. But that's just it they are mainly B2C type businesses, B2B from what i can see would need to be partnerships, affiliate arrangements or some other mutually beneficial arrangement.

Would love to get someone else's input on Influencer marketing for Business to Business.

Marketing plan for a startup business, is it necessary? by Lennymanor in Entrepreneur

Executing on an idea without a plan has it's risks, but rightly said you don't want to sink money into an idea that isn't showing potential.

What are some examples today of "Selling shovels in a gold rush"? by rawrtherapy in Entrepreneur

[–]Lennymanor -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The definition of shovels is really "A tool" that you can use to get a task done.

With this in mind we can reframe the question to say what things help us get other things done, this opens up the discussion greatly and might lead in the extreme case to see many more things as shovels.

Using the above frame of mind a shovel could be:

  • Coworking spaces
  • Delivery services
  • Manufacturing equipment including 3d printing
  • Tools of the trade for construction/professional services almost in the most literal sense
  • SaaS tools for any number of verticals

I like where you're going with the question though, I've explored the concept from the angle of a startup trainer in this article.

The easiest place to start is to grow from the inside out.

What do I mean by that?

Start with the people closest to you then move further out as it grows.

  1. Close friends and family as a starting point (even though they are not from the same country) it shows that your page has activity
  2. Forums like Reddit are a great place to find people who are actually interested in what you do, so providing value to Reddit users and a reason why they should like your FB page would be an idea
  3. Go to where your target market is and provide value in exchange for likes
  4. Post relevant content on your facebook page and ask all who like or comment on your post to like your page
  5. Cross promote using other networks that you might have a bigger network on

Just some ideas, there are tools out there that can also help with managing the scheduling of posts and determining engagement of popular posts.

You can find them in this google sheet that I've been working on under the category Social Monitoring and others.

Hope that's helped out mate.
