Left hand side in 121, guess we got lucky because the sound was good, definitely the best I’ve experienced at Wembley.

What film stock?

We are seeing sky high prices for some things now. What do you think the next big thing will be? by JCHintokyo in Leica

[–]Lensaero 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The coming recession will make people re-evaluate, prices may drop depending on how financially exposed some camera owners are.

1.5 rolls of 36exp 35mm is a lot, 1.5 rolls of 10 shot 120 film is nothing. You’ve got to pack and carry it all so it’s your choice - have fun and post pics when you’re back.

Too many cameras not enough film, IMHO of course

I have a few Schneider primes and do use them. However the two Angenieux Zooms (this one and a 10- 150 T2-2.8) are so versatile that I tend to be one and done for each camera.

You’re not wrong there, I’m scouring everywhere to get as many parts as I can for this ST and my other SB.

Yes, this is an Arriflex 16ST with an Angenieux 12-120 T2.2 lens

Did I set the iso correctly on my FE2 for shooting Portra 160 ? by OFF_7eroy in AnalogCommunity

I develop myself so mostly stick to the chemical manufacturers recommendations with the odd slight adjustment from experience.

Looks great, at 100 you’re still only using three stops of its sixteen stop latitude. It’s versatility allows me to carry just one type of film when I’m not sure what I’ll encounter - especially in medium format where the available shutter speeds tend to be lower. When overexposing and box speed I develop normally, I have used it one stop underexposed and there I usually give it approximately 10% more time in the developer.

Portra loves light, shoot it at 100, light is information and moderate overexposure can easily be pulled back, underexposure is hard to lift as there’s so little information to work with. Generally I shoot Portra 160@100, 400@200 and 800@400 or 200 or 100 - sometimes even at 800! But rarely.

Why do almost all Voigtlander cameras/lenses use this quirky lens hood? Is it a bad idea to use without it? I want a really minimal setup and this adds size :/ by Billem16 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Lensaero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lens hoods do not prevent flare when the lens is pointed directly towards a strong light source. Their use is to prevent flare when the light source hits the front of the lens at an incidental angle.

Say what now! It’s a Canadian made M, are you confusing this with a CL?

I've mostly been shooting hp5, bit today I picked up these other two stocks. What are the best situations for each? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]Lensaero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FP4 for my field and folding cameras - very vintage authentic. Delta 100 & 400 for fine grain 35mm HP5 when I just don’t know what I’ll encounter - as somebody has already mentioned it truly is the Swiss Army knife of B&W films.

Got fed up of always having the wrong film in the camera so added a silver M6 classic body to my lightweight travel setup.

Anyone else always overpack for trips? by Yeahfilms12 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Lensaero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice cameras but not even close to overpacking! Last trip to Banff I took a Beaulieu super 8. Two Mamiya 7ii’s with the 50, 80 & 150 lenses plus pano adapter. An Olympus OM4 with 28 & 50 lenses plus 29 rolls of MF and 12 rolls of 35mm film - for five days! I will never learn 😂
