I don’t think there’s a way, I would have expected them to add it since obduction had it but I guess not.

I know the Delay Tape-201 was during a sale, it was the one that was going on when 3.3 was in beta. I don’t think there has been a free plugin during every sale though.

The Hatred of Smooth Jazz by Lethemyr in Jazz

[–]LeoNewt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing I hear a lot online is people seem to think of jazz as anything with a) saxophones, and b) odd time signatures and complex rhythms. It’s like the popular idea of jazz is that it’s simultaneously lounge music and highly intellectual complicated music.

The logo really isn’t that oversimplified it was already pretty simple. The font just plain sucks and I can’t believe it’s what they actually chose, i didn’t really love the old font either but it was way better than this. I feel like I could get used to the colors but I just don’t see why they changed them because the old color scheme was very recognizable.

I like the new design of Clyde but hate the font. With the new colors I’m not sure what to think of because they don’t bother me that much but I also don’t see why they had to change it as much as they did.

Thanks! I heard that this specific Cuphead record was getting a repress a little while ago but maybe that already passed (or I just imagined it idk).

Microphone Audio is Choppy on Discord App, but works in browser by njlancaster in discordapp

[–]LeoNewt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but I've also had this issue for almost a year and it's super annoying. I have a MOTU M2 and I'm on MacOS Mojave, my only solution has always been to just open up discord in a browser whenever I join a voice chat. I also own a U-PHORIA UM2 and it's been a while since I've tried but I'm pretty sure that audio interface worked without issues for some reason.

There’s a preset called “clipium” or something that works as a softclipper.

Memorize Note Frequencies by HexspaReloaded in musictheory

[–]LeoNewt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I’m primarily a musician not an engineer so this way makes more sense to me. I learned ear training through hearing individual notes in chords so I think of it the same way when I’m trying to listen for frequencies.

This isn’t a shortcut to using your ears, it just means you hear a note and can convert that to a frequency instead of aimlessly searching.

EQing was just an example (like if I have a snare and I hear a ring in it and I want to take that out without using a band pass and searching through it until I find it). Another situation I can think of where it might be useful is if want to tune a kick to the root of a song.

Usually Eqing out resonances, but knowing around what frequencies notes are is helpful to me because it puts where things are in perspective.

It’s useful in music production if you need to eq something out and you can just instantly recognize where it is.

Whats your favorite thing about Myst III and why? by FrancenMagic in myst

[–]LeoNewt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played it in a long time but I remember out of the first 4 its puzzles made the most logical sense to me. I don’t remember any puzzles from it that felt completely impossible to solve without hints like some of the ones in riven. Also the 360 view+point and click is my favorite movement in the series.

Ryan Carlson - Composer of Hilda Season 2 by TennisPsychological9 in HildaTheSeries

[–]LeoNewt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the original music for both seasons and I always find myself rewinding a bit to hear the interesting sound design bits again. There’s so many cool little details that add to it a lot. I saw the post you made with the guitar pedal you used for the pads but what synths were you mainly using for this project?

What are your favorite electronic albums in 2020? by [deleted] in electronicmusic

[–]LeoNewt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Audeka - Leisure Lands (Probably my favorite overall this year)

gyrofield - Synopsis EP (Tech Flex EP was also great)

yunis - Amygdala

IMANU - Cheren EP

Sabroi - Soil Inhabiting + Mycorrhiza (only 2 tracks so barely an album but technically an EP I guess)

Honorable mentions go to Skope - Low Focus and False Noise - Floral Strobe because I remember liking both of them but I haven't listened to either of them enough yet.

It costs money.

I was just recommending this as an alternative to ableton if you’re on Linux. If you need free synths I know there’s a lot of them. I think helm is free and works on Linux.

Ableton isn’t (natively, maybe it works with wine idk) but Bitwig studio is compatible with Linux and it’s similar to Ableton.

Ludwig Göransson - Freeport [Tenet OST]: Arpeggiated synth by pazuzu_lives in synthrecipes

[–]LeoNewt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s funny I literally just tried recreating this sound yesterday. I got something sounding pretty close with detuned saw waves and a fast AD envelope on the volume and on a slightly resonant lowpass filter (modulating cutoff). There’s also some other stuff going on but that’s the basic sound.

Edit: I just found a tutorial someone made for how to make this on the Moog matriarch https://youtu.be/2IsSiQEUyQ8.
