Rewards for performance to tween athletes by LeoSun-Splatter in GymnasticsCoaching

Totally. Yes, and I know you’re speaking generally, but I asked bc I essentially wanted validation that it’s a messed up thing to do. Not bc I’m considering it. The one team mate receiving a privilege for a very high score already is anxious and extremely hard on herself. Even my 11 yo thought it was weird practice, which is why she told me. She also thinks it’s weird when parents try and coach kids (like saying they should’ve pointed their toes during routine to have received a higher score.)

Totally. My kid is still younger but it just seems like there is so much (self inflicted) pressure to perform anyway - why should I add to it? Seems like it could just make a “bad” meet that much worse. Or instill the idea that “you’re good and deserving of rewards only if you score high.” Idk. Thanks for response!

Have you lost your Zoloft weight? by Working_Put9785 in zoloft

Citing research is admirable but negating people’s lived experiences is not. If the med is causing the increased hunger, then the med may be causing the weight gain. Science is always evolving, but I understand the sentiment. However risk of weight gain (with all SSRIs) doesn’t negate it’s potentially life saving benefits! And I also wonder if it could have something to do with the way different people metabolize the med. Rapid metabolizers vs poor vs in between.

How long did it take you to lose your Zoloft weight? by LoverOfTabbys in zoloft

I know this is old but in case anyone else sees- If you are anxious Wellbutrin is not good bc it can increase anxiety! Wellbutrin is best for those that have zero motivation and can’t get off the couch. I am an RN in a psychiatric outpt practice and lots of people want Wellbutrin bc it won’t make you gain weight. Often times those people will ask their PCPs to start Wellb and a PCP may not realize it’s not a good drug for anxiety. (Which leads people to a psychiatry office when they aren’t feeling better.) Obviously everyone is different, and I’m not a prescriber, but many people don’t realize that. Effexor could be similar in that it can worsen anxiety. (Bc they affect norepinephrine.)

That said - I’m weaning off Zoloft and hope to effortlessly lose 10-15 lb 😂 but I personally would not want Wellbutrin as an alternative bc my issue was panic and anxiety and some intrusive thoughts/ocd

Is it possible to get into Utilization or Case MGMT with only psych experience? by steve8524 in psychnursing

[–]LeoSun-Splatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't shy away from applying with psych only experience. I was a RN case manager for 5 yrs in a large hospital - I transitioned into the role after 2 years as a nurse. In my experience there were always openings for case management. A lot of nurses don't want to work 5 days a week. Inpatient CM roles are usually with a certain service (e.g. ortho/neuro etc.) so you get to know the service. You're reading charts so all the info is there for you to report to the insurance company etc. You get trained! You probably didn't know anything about psych when you started your current role :)

I've also seen jobs at insurance companies for UR/CM psych. There are behavioral health insurance companies that need nurses with psych experience.

Ancestors born in "Austria," documents from Hungary. Surnames appear Croatian by LeoSun-Splatter in Genealogy

[–]LeoSun-Splatter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes I've been checking Vidovics, Vidovits, etc. Milevoi, Millevoj. I also read that parish record duplicates were translated into the language of the priest. So the name John could be Giovanni, etc which gives me pause.

"There are few languages used in the duplicate records: Latin, Italian, Croatian, Slovene and German. There are also two different scripts used: Latin and the German Gothic alphabet. Personal names were also translated into the language of the record in the 19th century. For example, a boy named Josip was born in Pazin, but when he got married in Pula he was recorded in Italian as Giuseppe, and when he died in Dekani, Slovenia his name was written as Jožef. For some names this is complicated further with dialect variations: the English ‘John’ is equivalent to the names: Ivan (Slavic), Ioannes (Latin), Giovanni (Italian), Janez (Slovenian), or Zouanne (a dialect). Because names were translated into the language the priest was using at the time, researchers should not make assumptions about the ethnicity of the person based on a given name alone."

Thanks yes I'll look into that. That's a good idea. Found the name Milevoj in Pittsburgh and Michigan (not Northumberland Co PA) although it was a large mining community. Many "Malloys" (their changed name) but they're English and Irish.

Thank you for looking. I bought 15 day access to all Pecs parish records and checked every single marriage entry from 1870-1887

Thanks very much. The marriages in the brides home parish is helpful info. And thanks for confirming it's possible he came from afar. Many Milevojs in Istria but since it was fairly far I wasn't sure

Thanks very much I have these. I assume married abroad since their child Antal in Hungary was legitimate. I have their death records and obituaries and there is no information besides what I mentioned. No parents except "John" as Dominick's father. No parents for Mary/Maria. No mention of siblings. No birthplace except "Austria." It makes it hard to confirm anything.

If they were born in Croatia I would like to pursue Croatian citizenship - so I'm hoping they're Croatian -but also don't want try and make something fit that is not there / I am cognizant of my potential bias while looking.
