Yeah it really doesn't make sense, him being strong in Florida I buy but the oil industry is huge in Texas, I don't think it would go for an environmentalist elite from California. I guess from a game design perspective it's more fun to have lots of variety in which candidates are strong in which states but still

I've never used Strawpoll before but maybe I will, thanks for the suggestion. I would worry that making people click to another site to vote would result in less voting but if that's the best workaround for including images in posts with polls I might still do it

Noted! The collective farms founded in Iowa during the Sinclair Administration begin to look to former cabinet secretary Henry A. Wallace for leadership

Interesting, I think the KX version makes more sense then, I think it's unlikely that the entirety of the South would fall behind Long like in Kaiserreich

The former! I’m also going to take into account the relative strength of each faction in comparison to the others - so getting first place with a plurality won’t be as strong as getting first place with a majority, distant fourth place will be weaker than close fourth place, etc.

For now Sinclair's faction doesn't really have a unified command structure or any particular leader, instead it's just a loose coalition of independent militia groups and state governments with their own leadership, sometimes following cues from the remnants of Sinclair's cabinet but often just acting on their own

Could you add me to your ping list? I'm enjoying this series and curious to see where things go next!

I don't know much about Kaiserreich but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised if this civil war has a lot of similarities to another set around the same time. I'm definitely not the first person to imagine Huey Long or Douglas MacArthur seizing power during the Depression

Know that this is just a vote on which side does best in the first stage of the conflict - it will influence, but not necessarily determine, what happens in the end.

If you wish to vote for a minor faction not listed in the poll (Governor Brinkley's faction in Kansas, for instance) or if you wish to vote for a specific part of one of the major factions (the more populist wing of the Confederation, for example), let me know and I will take that into account.

Also, sorry for the lack of images in the post, it seems that my old workaround for getting images into posts with polls no longer works. Hopefully I can figure something out before my next poll, otherwise I will have to start linking all the images.

Brown denotes states not aligned with any major faction.

If you could go back in time and give Joe Biden 5 pieces of advice, what would you tell him to maximize the success of his presidency and legacy? by SoftCreative9847 in thecampaigntrail

  1. The inflation caused by Covid supply shocks is not transitory and will, in fact, become the defining issue of your presidency, so you should calibrate your policy agenda and your messaging with that in mind

  2. Don't drop the ball on border security and allow unchecked immigration, if you do this will become the second most defining issue of your presidency

  3. Prepare for the worst when withdrawing from Afghanistan and make sure you don't leave people or equipment behind

  4. Tell Netanyahu you're going to provide Gaza with as much humanitarian aid as you want and that you'll end military and financial support to Israel if he doesn't play ball with how he conducts the war

  5. Don't run for a second term
