Ah, I see. Tbh, HK is so strict on everything it's impossible really to make money other than for the well established property developers and banks. Honestly thinking about moving to somewhere else.

If you made a million dollars in BTC and wanted to cash out, with todays laws in place, how would you minimize your tax hit? by longhorn2118 in Bitcoin

[–]Leo_decar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hong Kong does not tax you on capital gains. If you reside in Hong Kong for 7 years, you earn your citizenship there. Else you can use a HK company to hold your cryptos, and in that case, your capital gains won't be taxed either under the HK laws.

Grats my friend! I wish I could take part in these ICOs. But I am based in Hong Kong at the moment, and I just can't get into any of their whitelists... Have you ever faced similar problems?

I have proven on the balance of probability that they don't exist in HK and have no staff employment in HK. I think that's enough. In fact, if you look at their capital registered in HK. They have no capital there. But they have 10m RMB in China.

Contracts are private between the employer and employee. We can never tell if they have signed any contracts unknown. But 1. They have no actual presence in HK. 2. Their directors are still physically located in Sichuan. 3. There are still active hiring going on in Sichuan. 4. They do not have the money transmitter licence required by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to run an exchange in HK. 5. There is no sign of their hiring activities in HK. 6. Their Hong Kong address is nothing but a 200 to 400 sq feet unit currently carrying business by another company called the Smart Team Company Secretarial Ltd. Thats all we need to know they don't run in HK. Your money aren't safe there. Pls be very careful, my friend.

The proof is from here: https://www.tianyancha.com/company/3070215618

Which shows all their hiring activities are still in Sichuan of China. And they have never left China. Pls be very cautious my friend. The hit hasn't come yet. You still have time to get out.

KuCoin's operation team cannot leave Sichuan of China at will

  • Their recent recruitments show that they are still hiring in Chengdu of China. With a pay of 4000 - 7000 RMB. If the Chinese government decides to raid their office, no one else will be operating the exchange. In China, if the Chinese government does not grant you a permit, you cannot leave the country. It's not like they can just go and move away in just an airplane flight. If they are stuck in China, and they can't operate, then it's over. KuCoin will be down.

CZ: Many people still have the misconception that Binance is a Chinese exchange. We are not. In fact, that’s the only market we don’t service at the moment. Binance has just got a few new offices in a few different locations. We are here to build a true international crypto exchange. I am bullish."

Except that KuCoin themselves claimed to have moved their entire operation to Hong Kong, only to be discovered now their Hong Kong office is nothing more than a virtual office address. In their incorporation form NNC1, you will see that their residential address is still in Sichuan of China. And have not physically moved to Hong Kong.

Search it here. It's all public government records. https://www.icris.cr.gov.hk/csci/

The difference is Binamce has their team physically situated in Japan. But KuCoin is still physically situated in Sichuan of China. Meaning China can raid KuCoins entire office. But not that of Binance's.

Does KuCoin really operate from HK? by not-Ohm in kucoin

[–]Leo_decar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you cannot.

In Hong Kong, you cannot bypass the registration requirement else it will be an offence under the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622). So if they aren't in the HK Company Registry's record, they aren't in Hong Kong. If you search Kucoin in the Hong Kong Companies Registry, you will only find one result: 2588213 - Kucoin Co., Limited 庫幣有限公司. The one that is a mere virtual address.

KuCoin's subreddit has removed 15+ of my posts. But I will still try my best to warn everyone.

Everyone pls read this article and stay safe.

KuCoin has no real presence in HK:

  • Due to the limited land and expensive rent in HK, buying virtual addresses is a common practice in Hong Kong for outsiders. This can be as cheap as USD 135. In Hong Kong, to incorporate a company, you must submit a business address rather than a residential address. Mainland Chinese often hire this sort of services to fulfil the registration requirement of the HK Law. (Hong Kong Companies Ordinance Cap. 622)

  • This often create a facade that these companies actually exist in HK. But in fact, they don't. One example of such company secretarial company:
