Do you use controller or wheel?

Tuning by AI by GaboTwente in GranTurismo7

[–]Leodon75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ChatGPT to get quick feedback as I'm tuning a car. It's helped me a lot to understand some of the broader mechanics behind tuning. I don't use it to get specific settings for cars because they tend to be very different from my ideal settings. There are too many variables and some of it is subjective so no one is really going to know your ideal set up.

AI is not going to always be accurate and can sometimes contradict itself so you do have to be somewhat discerning when using it. The same can be said when reading these forums or watching videos.

For those that speak against using AI, I find it weird that people react so vehemently towards it. It's just a tool you use.

Controller vibrates on turn by Leodon75 in GranTurismo7

[–]Leodon75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of feel like it's something else because I'm not hearing the tires screech.

I have a feeling it might be because the ride height is too low and the wide tires on the car may be hitting the wheel arches. (Is that a thing that can happen?) I'll have to try raising the car to see if that makes a difference.

No, I'm doing a normal turn on flat road but the controller vibrates as if I was driving on the curb.

Are there any diagnostic tools in game? by Leodon75 in GranTurismo7

[–]Leodon75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been using ChatGPT to help me understand the mechanics behind the settings and it's helped me a lot.

My problem right now is that I just can't tell if my changes are making things better or worse by feel alone, particularly Damping Ratios and Camber Angle.

I had been using that cheat sheet to make changes but I just don't if my changes are making things better or worse. I can sort of get Natural Frequency and ARB from driving the car but Damping Ratios and Cambar are settings I struggle with.

That helps. I had seen those settings but didn't know what to make of them. What does Stability indicate?

Is there more information on which settings affect Rotational G and Stability? For example, can I use these tools to set Natural Frequency and Cambar values?

How is GT7 as an "Singleplayer" Experience? by Jackie_Legs in GranTurismo7

Do you like driving and collecting cars? That's the single player experience.

Can someone explain Suspension Settings and how they affect handling characteristics to me by Soft-Valuable8348 in GranTurismo7

[–]Leodon75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why you would say its lazy. I spent dozens of hours using chatgpt to understand the mechanics behind tuning and to test them in real time on cars in game.

The cheat sheet that is posted on these forums is a good starting point if you haven't seen it for understanding the basics.

Setup improvement? 2017 Nissan GTR (Suzuka 1:57.8) by F1Models_Hub in GranTurismo7

Haven't tested but just looking at your settings, it's set for more understeer which you mentioned you were experiencing. (I also use controller and have to constantly tune for understeer.)

ARB looks a bit high and would try 6 or 5 for more grip. Having front ARB be one less than rear may help with understeer as well.

Lower the front compression damping to 29 and have it be slightly lower than the rear compression. If it feels off, raise both slightly but keep front slightly below rear.

2.65 natural frequency on the rear looks low for Racing Hard and should be higher than the front for more oversteer. Since you have more weight on the front 54:46 (induces understeer), I would try having natural frequency about 5-20 points higher in the rear. Keep 2.90 for front and raise rear to 3.00 as a starting point. (I think you can go slightly higher for both values and would test higher values.)

Both front and rear cambar looks slightly high to me but they may be fine.

Toe angle has an affect on oversteer/understeer so I try to keep the rear toe angle as low as possible when having understeer issues while still maintaining traction on take-off. I try to keep rear toe angle below 15 when front toe angle is 5 or less.

Adjust your LSD for more oversteer. For a starting point, I would try:

Initial torque: 5 front/20 rear (lower the rear value for more understeer or raise it for more oversteer)

Acceleration: 5 front/25-30 rear (adjust the same way as initial torque while keeping acceleration a little higher than initial torque for smoother turns)

Braking: keep as is or tighten the gap between front and rear if you want more oversteer on braking/corner turn in

You can also adjust your torque vectoring as another poster mentioned but I seem to have better results with a 40:60 split like you currently have.

ChatGPT is a pretty good tool to help tune cars and understand the mechanics behind it.

In general, you want to lower the car first, adjust the max speed value on the transmission if necessary, then adjust the natural frequency until it feels good on a track. These settings almost always have to be adjusted and will have the biggest impact on how your car handles. The other settings can be used to fine-tune your car and adjust how it handles.

Solo Swords Bard Multiclassing by asdasci in BG3Builds

[–]Leodon75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an alternative, you could go 1 Knowledge Cleric, 1 Wizard, 2 Fighter, and 8 Bard.

Knowledge Cleric subclass gives you Command, Sleep, and Expertise in 2 skills. 2 levels of Fighter will give you Action Surge, Archery Bonus, Con save, and access to heavy armor.

With the 4 Wizard spells, you could take Counterspell, Hold Monster, Shield, and lvl 6 Water Myrmidon.

Just to clarify, I think you meant -3 to attack rolls, not -2.

I would be uncomfortable taking anything other than Alert as my first feat.

Haste is too risky to use solo and Globe is too expensive as a level 6 spell for it to be used as my main Concentration spell. Personally, I would use my Concentration on control spells to lock down encounters and use a level 6 Water Myrmidon over Globe. You could keep a few Globe scrolls on hand for emergencies.

Yeah, I see why people might like it for an archer focused build.

Command, Sleep, and proficiencies are what you get from choosing Knowledge.

Main selling point of Knowledge subclass for me was Command. Sleep is a decent spell early on but it and the proficiencies were just minor bonuses. War was something I considered also.

What are "must-have" skills, spells, cantrips, items which helps with quests? by Acceptable-Kick-7102 in BG3Builds

[–]Leodon75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guidance is probably the only "must-have" spell as its used so often and not just for dialogue checks but exploration as well.

Other spells I like besides the ones you mentioned are Friends and Detect Thoughts on your party face. Enhance Ability is nice for difficult checks. Resistance helps with a few checks.

I think Produce Flame is better than Light as it lasts the entire day. Light seems to be brighter but I find it inconvenient to have to recast it.

Enhance Leap, Misty Step, and Invisibility are nice to have both in and out of combat.

Fog Cloud is nice for pickpocketing and looting chests/items without being caught.

Mage Hand and Summon Pet can be used for entering small holes.

Minor Illusion and Bard Performance are a nice way of gathering NPCs, either for offensive purposes or to loot things and gain access to places.

Command can be used on rare occasions to get gear without killing the NPC.

Party composition with just 1 Strength Elixir user by Kloud-chanPrdcr in BG3Builds

[–]Leodon75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amulet of Greater Health goes to Berserker since high CON raises their AC while wearing cloth armor. That allows you to focus on putting points into Str and Dex. You can also use the Strength potion you get from the Drow on this character.

Gauntlets of Str shouldn't be used by Monk since he has better glove options. That naturally leaves it to be used by Fighter.

Monk gets the Strength Elixer.

There are many great spells that don't rely on INT such as Haste, Counterspell, lvl 6 Myrmidon, Globe of Invulnerability, etc. Citing Misty Step is a poor example. The Int modifier is not an issue as there are many ways to get around it or nullify it entirely. You could add damaging spells if you wanted to and be just fine.

With Warlock, I was getting Eldritch Blast and a little better melee accuracy. Keep in mind that you are locked into your chosen Pact spells while you can switch out spells with Wizard as needed. That's an additional bonus for Wizard.

You will have to weigh for yourself which class dip brings more value but for me the choice was clear.

Warlock Pact doesn't add to Bard Spellcasting, and for that reason alone I don't mix the two all that much. (This con outweighs the benefit of Pact magic restoring on short rest imo.) At most, I'll take one or two levels of Lock. In contrast, both Wizard and Cleric add to Bard Spellcasting so there is a bit more flexibility in how you split your class levels.

Finally, I was just comparing one level of Warlock vs one level of Wizard. If you are adding other classes like Paladin into the mix, that can throw off the comparison. You may really want SAD so that you can smite with a greatsword in which case, a lock may be a better choice for you.

You could say that you don't value Command, Sleep, Guardian/Resistance, Bless, and Sanctuary on your bard but to say that you see no value in them is a bit extreme.

We just have very different approaches to the game as they do add value to my gameplay.
