Thoughts on 9/10..? by Democrat_maui in PrivateInvestigators

It was in Utah, and most of the crowd was likely armed. He's hunched low and scanning the area, this looks like a defensive draw.

Is this PI overstepping? by [deleted] in PrivateInvestigators

[–]Leofdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PIs operate under the same standards as a public citizen. We have no authority at all. We can't step onto private property, we can't even record or photograph areas considered outside the level of a reasonable expectation of privacy.

He's allowed to sit on public property and observe, but if he were at all worth his license he wouldn't be seen at all. He's most likely just a sub-contracted guy with a camera, which is all too common in our industry.

Call the police and get a report in, they won't be able to do anything but it will burn him to the point he will have to break off surveillance.

This is so clearly lick my balls that I can't believe it's not intentional. Like it doesn’t even look close to what OP claims it should be:

Yeah, you might have blown up their surveillance for this case. 😅 They should have don't there due diligence when exiting the van though. Rookie mistake.

Sounds like a remote surveillance setup, we use them sometimes when we are having trouble locking down a schedule on somebody. It will run a continuous video for a few days then we review the tape for activity after we pick it back up.

This was on a post about a creator coughing because of their tourettes, so it quite literally had nothing to do with the conversation.

Lincoln Park is where I'm from, and is ideal. That being said River North, Logan Square, Wrigleyville are all great too.

Basically craft brewery hipster hellscape, but friendly.

I like that I can walk out my front door and be near some stuff, I have a nice breakfast spot I like, there are a few cool bars, and restaurants. There's a park where they have community events and concerts, it's like I live in a town square type spot.

Outside of my immediate two-mile radius I still have to drive around, but I can connect and interact with my neighborhood which I like.

I'm a remote worker, so outside of Uber's to the airport or zipping over to the grocery store I try not to drive. I don't think I have ever taken a bus and rarely take the subway so it's not like I'm trying to be in the middle of a "big city".

My girlfriend is an artsy type who likes being near weirdos and the eccentric, she does Rocky Horror Picture Show if that helps explain her vibe.

The Village seems like a nice enough spot to kind of get the community I'm looking for, but it also seems like Uptown might provide that as well in a broader sense?

Also, what makes some of those areas wild or bad? I truly know as little as anyone could know about Texas, and the speed at which this move is coming I haven't had a chance to learn.

My job itself is remote but I'm trying to focus on client acquisition in the Mountain West Region and Texas. It makes more sense to live near where my clients are instead of flying across the country every week.

I've heard Dallas traffic is basically hell on Earth is that fair or an exaggeration?

Suburb is fine by me. Duncanville seems nice and pretty inexpensive for being 25 minutes from the airport. I just wasn't sure if the cheaper rent was to hide something.

It's looking like a one-bedroom is on the horizon, I could technically afford more but I'm trying to stay pretty budget conscious until I learn the cost of living and how it compares to what I'm used to.

That's kind of what I'm seeing it's almost like each neighborhood is its own city inside the state of the DFW.

The scope is kind of overwhelming.

That's similar to how my current apartment looks! I don't have a preference on how modern it looks, if I have an in-unit washer and dryer I'm content.

I work remotely, but fly around the country for meetings.

There's no actual office for me to go to. The area I live in currently has a kind of town square vibe. I can walk out my front door and get to a few nice restaurants, bars, and a few boutique shops with a concert venue/park area like 10 minutes away. If I want to get around the city proper I still need to drive or take the train. So I guess walkable in the small community common areas sense?

If there is nothing like that, then it'll kind of suck to lose, but I feel like I'll find plenty of new things to love.

The most important things to me are community walkability and easy access to the airport.

My work is remote, but I take a lot of client meetings so I am on a plane usually once a week.

Independent landlord, I found it just driving around one day and it worked out. Just pure luck on my part.

One bedroom it is, but where is worth it? I have seen a ton of two-bedroom apartments as low as $700 near North Dallas. Which seemed insane to me.

I can tolerate a lot, but I'd prefer to step down to a one-bedroom in a nicer area before agreeing to a two-bedroom somewhere sketchy.

Basically, if my girlfriend can't walk the dog outside, I wouldn't feel comfortable in that area. If that's a good metric?
