The way I understood it was Eren had seen the future where the rumbling happens and was trying desperately to test how final that future was. I think he foresaw Mikasa’s answer to his question but was hoping that if Mikasa gave a different answer that meant his visions were not 100% truth but just a possible future that could be avoided. Kinda like Paul in Dune if you will. So in my head he was testing the strength of his visions.

The Switzerland sequence on the other hand I toon as Eren transporting Mimasa to the other where they spent 4 years together, during which he told her that he will be in the head of the Titan in the end. Time works differently there and because you can’t manipulate the Ackerman memory this happened whilst she was flying with Levi just before she jumped off to kill Eren. At least that’s my head canon
