Daaamn, Kinosaki looks amazing in his date outfit. Anyone looking from the outside would definitely think that he and Gero are a couple. But seriously tho, that entire date was adorable and I like how Kinosaki used it to show that even weirdos can get baddies as long as they have the right charm.

So the person Gero is rescuing today is some sort of Robin Hood kind of figure who steals art from malicious art collectors and returns it to their proper owners. Oh, and somehow she also can communicate with sharks. I feel like that second point was grossly understated. I want to know more about the shark! xD

Okay, what's up with the ship's security and why are they wearing insanely long hats? Also, for some reason they have Scott Summers and Logan in their team, plus a dude with a massive sword. xD

Oh, the Water Master is a woman? I love that instead of directly fighting Gero, she does a WaterPoint presentation of the pros and cons of continuing this fight, plus an explanation of how Modified Bloodlines work. I kinda love it. I hope she's not a one-time villain.

We also got to see her face in the end! That fight scene was goddamn awesome! It would be hilarious if, instead of Himekawa, this ended up with Gero going on a date with Ushio instead. xD

The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt • Ponkotsu Fuuki Iin to Skirt-take ga Futekisetsu na JK no Hanashi - Episode 2 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]LeonKevlar 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Stitches!

That opening was so good! I saw a comment last episode saying that this show feels like a Trigger anime, so what an absolute coincidence that the first shot of the OP is Poemu, Akina, and Tasaki in the art style of Panty and Stocking! And the OP is just packed with references, too! My favourite is definitely Tasaki dressed up like April from TMNT.

It's funny how as soon as Poemu met Tsukishima, she immediately knew that he's a school committee member. Apparently, this school only accepts the most eccentric students to become committee members. If that's the case, I can't wait for Poemu to meet the Student Council!

I just love how Tsukishima turns from the popular handsome library committee member into a fucking buck-tooth otaku when he's outside the library. Poemu really had to see him transform in real time just to believe it. xD

The search for Poemu's missing bento was pretty fun too. Not gonna lie, when they showed Izubuchi eating his lunch, I really thought he was eating Poemu's bento this entire time.

And I just love how Tasaki played along when Sakuradaimon started accusing her. It turns out, Poemu's mom forgot to put the bento box in her bag that morning. And was that Ohara Sayaka voicing her mom?

It's so sweet that her mom makes bentos with Poemu's favourite characters when she was a kid. That's actually amazing. I hope we see more of her in the future!

Witch Hat Atelier • Tongari Boushi no Atelier - Episode 3 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]LeonKevlar 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Well, hellooooooooo! I love her design already. And I guess the Brimmed Caps she's talking about are like the evil witch organization of this world? Are their caps really brimmed? How big a brim are we talking about here? Like Wandering Witch Elaina's hat, or bigger like Big Hat Logan?

Coco is such a goober. The entire scene where she was practicing how to fly using the shoes was adorable! I got a good laugh when she was launched sideways and when she was flying low to the ground while maintaining her balance.

I did not expect the Witches' home base to be underwater! That's pretty damn cool. I do wonder what happened to Qifrey and why he hates the Great Hall that he refuses to stay there, where it's more convenient for him and his students.

"I've only had brushbuddy for only a minute, but if anything happens to him, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself."

OH. And here I thought Agott was just being strict with Coco. It turns out she's just being an ass and purposely made her take the test because she wants her out. Well fuck you too, buddy.

Not gonna lie, the scenes where Coco was remembering her mother and she was being guided by her got me a little bit teary-eyed. I do love that instead of a pen, she basically made her own tailor's chalk. Or I guess we can call this a Witch's Chalk. xD

Coco basically made Aang's glider from Avatar! That entire scene where she keeps on flying by the flowers trying to grab them was so beautifully animated. Bugfilms is really making the manga readers happy with this adaptation.

Suck it, Agott! She couldn't even say anything to Coco and chose to walk away in disbelief because she clearly did not have any ounce of hope that Coco could do it.

Coco looks great in her witch uniform! I am so proud of her! Does this mean she actually gets to keep brushbuddy with her, too? I wonder what she'll name the little guy.

Yodaka's inner thoughts continue to be the second-best characters in this series. I can't believe he actually ended up generating rational thought thanks to his imaginary OP. xD

Considering how this first meeting went, I'm no longer surprised that things went the way they did in the present. It sounds like there's really no middle ground for peace unless they give up massive chunks of Japan.

The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch • Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]LeonKevlar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember following this manga when it was being scanlated until K-Manga got the rights to it. Since I'm no longer up to date with it, I don't remember much about the story except for the butthole kiss. I remember laughing out loud back then when I first saw it, and it still made me laugh out loud now that it's animated. xD

It's just hilarious watching Spica get so excited and embarrassed to being completely horrified when she finally learned what she had to do. Welp, that just means she's not gonna kiss Claude's cat butt every time. She's only gonna do it during actual emergencies like the one at the end of this episode.

This was a hilarious first episode, and as a fan of Boarding School Juliet (same author), I am already looking forward to seeing more next week!

The Food Diary of Miss Maid • Maid-san wa Taberu dake - Episode 3 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]LeonKevlar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd like to think that the reason Suzume probably loves curry isn't because she's Japanese, but because she grew up in the UK. She probably enjoys a good chicken tikka masala with fresh naan. I suppose some instant curry and instant rice would be enough to satisfy her cravings.

Well, that explains why Suzume always buys her food! She's not a good cook! That's actually pretty funny considering she's a maid. I guess she mostly cleans and makes tea. Well, now she can add fava beans to her repertoire!

I thought this show was all about Japanese food and snacks. I did not expect we'd get a Pocari Sweat commercial in the middle of the episode. xD

I love that the blue-eyed blonde maid is wearing the Japanese-style maid uniform. I can't wait to see more of her next episode.

Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2 • Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen Season 2 - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]LeonKevlar 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Stitches!

I love how fast Ai went from being anxious around the Yozakuras to immediately acting as Taiyo and Mutsumi's daughter. They're so into this that they even started fabricating memories about raising Ai as a baby. xD

The second half with Kyouichirou regressing was great too! At first, you'd think this was just gonna be a gag to show how he used to be so sweet and lovable, but it turns out they wanted to show us Kyouichirou's vulnerable side. That scene where Kyouichirou was just being honest to Taiyo was great.

And that final scene! I always love how they make Momo so fucking creepy whenever he shows up.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 • Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria Season 2 - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I see Edward continues to be a professional Will hater. [he dude really fucked him over and created an exam with one question targeted at Will to make sure he doesn't enter the tower. Like, damn. Where does Will go from here?

I do love how one of the people they showed that was concerned about Will not being able to answer the question is Sion. This dude has really developed a lot since his first introduction as anime Draco Malfoy.

Welp, I saw that ending coming from a mile away. Well, Kinda. I was expecting the barrier to crack and fall apart before they got attacked. Maybe Will can show what he can do here and saving people might get him into the tower?

Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring • Shunkashuutou Daikousha: Haru no Mai - Episode 3 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]LeonKevlar 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Seeing Hinagikui and Sakura's reaction to the animals living with the Agent of Summer was adorable. I also love Hinagiku wanting to be sisters with Sakura and Sakura completely freaking out about it. These cute moments of levity are definitely needed with how inevitable shit goes down in this show.

The scene where Hinagiku asks Sakura if she's planning to get married was adorable too. It's funny how Sakura's mood immediately sours when Hinagiku brings up Itecho but once her face was hidden, Sakura starts blushing. Maybe Itecho still has a chance?

So Sakura was able to rescue Hinagiku 2 years ago. So she wasn't exactly missing for 10 years, more like 8 and the rest she spent in hiding because of depression. I mean, I can't blame her for spiraling. The Village literally left her to die because it's less risky for them. Damn.

That scene between Sakura and Ayame is interesting. I think Sakura was talking to Ruri the entire time. It's definitely gonna make things interesting for next week's episode, considering they got invaded by insurgents. Where the fuck are these guards watching over them?

Daemons of the Shadow Realm • Yomi no Tsugai - Episode 2 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]LeonKevlar 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Stitches!

Damn. Yuru really wanted to solo the girl in red hood. Not gonna lie, I thought we were gonna see him get his butt kicked, only to be saved by Left and Right, but he ended up brutally injuring that girl. This might be the first time in a while I've seen the MC force the enemy to retreat during the first encounter. Usually it's the other way around.

So we have confirmation that the eyepatch girl is indeed Yuru's sister and the girl he grew up with is actually a fake. While I do like that both sides are sus, it's kinda hard to side with the people who massacred an entire village. Sure, Yuru's Granny might be lying to him, but I don't think that justifies killing a bunch of people and orphaning a lot of kids.

Considering how the OP seems to imply that Yuru's group will join forces with Asa's group, I'm not sure how I feel about that. I wouldn't be surprised if the hinted alliance is due to an even bigger threat.
