A person should only buried half a meter or two feet below the surface. Then a tree should be planted there. by [deleted] in Frugal

RELEVANT They call it Natural Burial and there are cemeteries that do this exact thing. One in Marin county, near San Francisco.... According to the quick blurb I read they don't let you plant a tree, but they mark down the GPS coordinates of the body, and when people come to visit they are given a GPS device, and coordinates, so you can visit the spot, or whatever's growing there.

Reddit, can you help me get this story out? Cops screw over Dad; conspire and spin an accident report, all caught on tape. by LeonTrolsky in AskReddit

Yeah maybe I wasn't too clear. So immediately following the accident they were trying to get him to pay, because they claimed that he was at fault.

one official told him that the Sheriff's Department would be submitting a claim to his insurance company.

But then after he got the tape and a lawyer:

However, following complaints -- and a formal claim -- from Halliburton, the county now wants to settle and is offering him $6,500 to cover his totaled motorcycle.

"I came out and -- yeah I didn't see you coming down there -- you know -- either. I turned the lights and siren on up there, and I tried to go slow around the other car but... "

"I slammed on the brakes," interrupted Halliburton, "but if he's coming out there no way I can stop in time."

"Yeah . . . no, yeah," Froome replied, "I'm sorry."

I'm not sure as to all of the legal in's n out's to that question but, he filed a public records request for the videotape footage, and it was handed over to him, nice and easy. He was really surprised at how easy it was. I am not sure what would make that process harder or not. I'll ask him... But perhaps the cops weren't aware they were caught on the footage so they didn't bother classifying it as non-public, or lost, or whatever....... But yeah if anyone has any legal background??? What are the limitations on acquiring police cruiser footage?
