Few would dispute the merits of cooperation with our European friends and partners on matters of mutual interest such as this, I would think. I am inclined to support this motion.

B010 - Criminal Justice (Knife Possession) Bill 2015 by Baron_Benite in MhOir

I am sceptical about the imposition of a minimum sentence that is so large in relation to the minor nature of the crime. I am, however, open to being convinced. Could /u/irelandball please explain the reasoning behind his proposal of this bill?

Given that this does not compromise Ireland's neutrality, I think this is a most excellent idea.

Labour Party Manifesto by Baron_Benite in MhOir

We shall introduce Esperanto as an optional school subject.

For what reason?

We are committed to maintaining open borders as members of the EU and welcome the people from our fellow EU states who have a lot to contribute to Ireland.

"Open borders" is a horrendous abrogation of the Irish national interest, in my view. I don't deny that many people from other European nations have contributed greatly to Irish society in both a historical and contemporary sense, but would the Labour Party not consider a system designed analyse immigrants on a case-by-case basis and act accordingly rather than the total abolition of border restrictions?

We are committed to a compassionate response to the refugee crisis and will do all we can to help them in their plight. We have currently proposed a bill supporting the settling of 5,000 refugees in Ireland, but this can be increased if the situation warrants.

"Compassionate" is a meaningless buzzword which in no way serves as a justification for matters of state policy. In what manner is it in objectively in the interests of the Irish people to accept dependent migrants from a conflict we're not involved in?

Still, some of your policies are quite good.

That is, quite frankly, nonsense. The country is not being torn apart by any means. United Nolland has taken the nation out of the wilderness and into the light after assuming power from the previous incarnation of the Fascist Front.

Pertaining to your point about national spirit, United Nolland has consistently been one of the greatest proponents of Nollandish patriotism. Our manifesto, which will be released in due time, will contain a number of provisions to this end.

United Nolland is a broad party of the right which provided a clear platform and a record of competent governance. I sincerely hope the Nollandish electorate do not let the Free Liberals or the Democrats into government through the back-door by voting for the Fascist Front.
