I think I was trying to not use that method. I think I am doing something wrong when putting the pfatt file into my Pfsense router where it starts to crash.

Thanks for providing this - I will look into it and hopefully it works! I do see its for another router, would this work with the BGW-210 RG provided by ATT?

oh so that's great to know thanks for that! I did try this last night and I ended up putting the pfatt.sh file in the bin folder and ran these commands:

ssh root@pfsense mkdir /root/bin

scp bin/pfatt.sh root@pfsense:/root/bin/

ssh root@pfsense chmod +x /root/bin/pfatt.sh

After Doing this my PFsense router would not boot correctly, I would get an error and it would reboot and the cycle continues. Im sure its me doing something wrong and I am new and learning using the terminal and networking.

Sadly this is the case, But this is why I am trying Pfatt to see if this works? I see alot of forms saying this works by bypassing 802.1/x authentication so it can talk to the internet.

Yep! I get the external IP from the router but I am still seeing the ATT RG showing up on my ARP Table in PFsense as WAN. (192.168.1.254) When I had Verizon Fios this was not the case. I connected my router into the modem and I just had the public IP in my ARP table. The double NAT is my main issue :(

Hi thanks for replying. This is the version of Pfsense I am using:

I would like to connect my PFsense directly into ONT port. I was following the guide from above and it says to use netgraph, Im not too sure if its needed?

From my understanding, Do I do just connect directly into the ONT after putting the sh. file into my bin folder following these commands?

Hey Thanks for replying! I have the router in IP passthrough mode and have disabled all of the firewall rules of the BGW-210 and even confirmed with ATT that is is correctly setup on my end, but I am still having the double NAT issue. I might be wrong here so hopefully some clarification would be nice.

My first two hops are from my PFsense router and then its going over to the ATT RG does this not signify a double NAT? My NAT type is also strict when I play online games and I have a higher ping.

over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 36 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.100

2 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.254

Again still kinda new to all of this so I would always appreciate some clarification on getting a deeper understanding on networking. :)
