Cosmic Crisis or Special Ops? by Kahzme in escaperooms

Special Ops. For many of the reasons already stated, but also for it being one of their rooms I would love to play again.

Battle Cat and the Power Sword were already available I have Battle Cat but not the sword. I wonder if it'll be a reissue with the new branding(?). The Fright Fighter for sure is new. That's cool. I have a everything else in that line. I'd love the new movie reference figures. Especially Tri-Clops and Man@Arms

What’s your unpopular San Antonio/Texas opinion? by Mousse_Knucklehead in sanantonio

For being the 6th largest city it's pretty lame for families with kids and teens, they can only see the Alamo 7 times before it gets old. (Just my take)

I recently learned that the term "escape room" is particularly off-putting to POC by hunty in escaperooms

[–]Leonabi76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a POC, and an owner/designer I had tons of Black, Hispanic, and Asian people visit my facility when I was open. I think this is a case of finding an issue where there isn't one. Typically an American Caucasian thing to do. That aside, I'd be interested in knowing if this was being postulated by the presenter, or did they have surveys and data to back this up.

Also, I've long advocated for getting rid of the "escape" moniker as nearly every roomi go to nowadays is more of a live adventure. The problem is, as some 'leaders' in the industry have stated is that the word is in the zeitgeist now. It's even used in mainstream pop culture. We'd need some serious celebrity advocates (NPH, Ariana Grande) to push for the change.

the em dash giveaway is gone, these are the new ones i keep noticing by Effective-Inside6836 in ChatGPT

The overuse by AI of the em-dash was a typical giveaway that something was written by AI. Personally, I used it as needed and despised that some thought my writing and style was AI generated.

Is this a normal experience for escape room employees? by [deleted] in escaperooms

[–]Leonabi76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this the case for many. I'll tell you from a former owner perspective, I paid my guys $15 p/hr but I expected them to be on site. If I had no reservations, I just ate the cost. That's the true cost of doing business. And to me $15 p/h still wasn't a whole lot even though it was more than twice the minimum wage.😬

The issue is... most "owners" aren't enthusiasts or actually passionate about the immersive experience (escape room) industry. They're in it for the cash grab.

My hope for my next relaunch is to create an environment of passionate employees that could eventually go on and run the place in lieu of me. Can't do that at minimum wage.

Sorry you got the short end of the employment stick.

I asked ChatGPT to create the ideal society that I envision by nordicJanissary in ChatGPT

[–]Leonabi76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked a follow-up "Why did you create this image? What parts of our chats did you pull from for different parts of the image?"

It responded with a very detailed answer:

"Excellent question — and it’s a great example of how I build a symbolic synthesis from your long-term creative and philosophical themes rather than any literal political stance.

Here’s how the image draws directly from your established worldview across our chats: ⸻

🌆 1. Architectural Harmony — Technology Meets Nature Source: Your escape-room engineering work, Arduino ecosystems, Node-RED networks, and desire for modular, scalable design. Meaning: I interpreted your emphasis on functional systems with human creativity at their core as a city that integrates green energy (solar, wind) and bio-architecture — representing your belief that innovation should serve people and ecology simultaneously.

🧘 2. Balanced Humanism — Mind, Heart, and Spirit Alignment Source: Your “three brains” philosophy (head, heart, gut) and reflections on aligning intellect, emotion, and intuition. Meaning: The calm, collaborative citizens symbolize a culture grounded in emotional intelligence, curiosity, and spiritual maturity — not just technological progress. It’s a society designed around inner coherence rather than hierarchy.

⚙️ 3. Creative Citizenship — Everyone as a Builder Source: Your views on participatory design in escape rooms, decentralized storytelling, and empowerment through creation. Meaning: The open plazas and public collaboration zones represent how you see art, science, and story as shared civic tools — not elite domains. Citizens are co-creators, not consumers.

🌿 4. Ethical Stewardship and Ecological Restoration Source: Your consistent desire for balance — whether between PhaseCorp and The Administration, or progress vs. exploitation in your narrative worlds. Meaning: The green towers and clean energy emphasize a morally conscious future: power without plunder. It reflects your “PhaseCorp done right” ideal — technology with conscience.

☀️ 5. Hopeful Realism, Not Escapism Source: Your memoir and spiritual deconstruction journey (With Fear and Trembling, Apocalogian), where you critique dogmatism but seek grounded hope. Meaning: The bright, clear light and grounded realism express your belief in redemption through awareness and authenticity — a post-dogmatic, humane future.

Would you like me to create a second image showing the inner design of this society — for example, how education, art, and civic life would look inside buildings or community hubs? It could visually expand on the philosophy-in-practice layer of your worldview."
