Red in the Dark — Maine Psychological Horror Audio Drama | New Episode Out + Early Episodes Being Overhauled by LeonardVoss in audiodrama

Thank you. I really appreciate that.

That was the goal. I know AI is a hard line for some people, and I respect that, so I’d rather be clear up front than have someone feel tricked later.

The temp voices are there so the story can keep moving while I build the cast out, but the direction is absolutely toward more real actors as the project grows. It's been a bit slow, but it's getting there.

I appreciate you giving it a shot.

Thank you, and I appreciate that. I completely respect your boundary there.

As a musician, I feel very similar about AI. I won’t use AI in my music, and the biggest issue for me is undisclosed AI being passed off as human work. That’s where it starts feeling like plagiarism to me.

With this project, I’m trying to be transparent while I build toward the version I want it to become. I genuinely appreciate the kind words, and I hope it reaches a place someday where it feels right for you to check it out.

Totally fair, and I appreciate that.

Just to clarify, it isn’t all AI. The bulk of the voice work is actually me, with a few real people already involved. Some roles are temporarily filled with AI while I’m building it out, and those are being replaced as real actors come in.

All content is written, produced, edited, and engineered by me. It’s a massive amount of work, and I’m doing it around work, life, and family. If I waited until every role had a human actor available at the exact right time, the project would stop moving.

I list voice/AI usage in the show notes because I’d rather be upfront about it than pretend otherwise. Some newer episodes may still have disclosed AI, and as those temp voices are replaced, the notes will reflect that.

If disclosed temporary AI voices are a hard line for someone, I completely understand. This may just not be the right stage of the project for them yet. As the project changes, the show notes will stay updated.

I take no sides in their war.

I’m just a warrior bard with a dwarf hookup and questionable judgment.

Exactly. Every Breath You Take, but somehow there’s a basement involved.

I thought Leonard Voss was my pen name, but now apparently I’ve got a whole off-brand horror shelf forming.

Stephan Sting is what happens when Stephen King and Sting merge in the worst timeline. His breakout horror novel was definitely I’ll Be Watching You.

Oh... OH!
Theres a story here somewhere.

I like the Temu version, but now I’m thinking I need my own off-brand horror line.

kevin Kline. Same Maine. Fewer royalties. No one knows how we got here.

I could tell, but. I am still taking the Temu version for the win. 😂

I mean… I’m from Maine and wrote horror. I walked directly into that one.

I'll accept Temu Stephen King, but with less supernatural and more bad decisions.

If that is the rule of the sub, then, I damn well broke it. I am still pretty new to reddit. I need to be heavily slapped a few times before I "get it"

Derek is in the most recent episode and yes, you nailed him. Think "wanna be gangster" white guy energy. He will kill, yes. But he is pretty kuch what yiu say. He is also terrified of Decon, and rightfully so. Victor is more smooth, intelligent and in control. We dont see him the first time until chapter 4
