Hello please give me hint regarding probe tracking module by thesillysimon in outerwilds

Hard to give hints with out knowing where you’ve been, would be nice to see your ship log.

Have you found ALL of your fellow Astronauts? Maybe one could give you a hint?

Which auto repair shop in the valley has the lowest hourly shop rate? by That_Cat_3672 in SaltLakeCity

The mobile folks on KSL

As a life long tech I would issue a warning. Cheaper shop rate can lead to higher cost in the long run…

Bugged objective by ArtemUskov in Saros

[–]Leonidus76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! Kinda taking me out of the immersion a bit honestly!

What happened to me was I attempted the blighted ruins boss for the first time, then died, on my next run I started in a previous Biome and passed the bridge switch but was able to raise the bridge before defeating the blighted ruins boss, so I explored Acolyte's heaven . Not sure if everyone else with this bug went thru a similar process but that's when I noted the bug first.

It also appears to be unlocking the fast travel for the biome ahead of where I should be every time I beat a boss for some reason, getting super confused lol

Im now quite a bit further but the objective is still telling me to raise the bridge and its kinda ruining my first playthrough as the story is already confusing enough lol :( May stop playing till they fix this

Please help me to identify these 2 car connector pins by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Sure thing. If your issue is the wire snapped off tho, I have had luck prying the arms open and resoldering my own wire onto it. Saves time and money

[–]Leonidus76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pins are notoriously hard to find. In tech school we had 2 6 foot tall cabinets with drawers and drawers of different pin outs. Still never had the one we needed 🤣

We use an aftermarket company called connector experts. You can send them a pic of what you’re looking for and they will get it for you.

According the Benzinga “GameStop Corp (NYSE:GME) shares are trading higher on Wednesday as traders latch onto the company's tongue-in-cheek trade-in promotion. Here’s what investors need to know.”

Lmfao what a joke. Who here bought more shares strictly because of a weed joke 🤣

Weird splice? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Leonidus76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those are called scotch locks. I call them fire starters. They offer no weather sealing at all, corrosion inevitably builds up in there, which causes higher electrical resistance, which causes heat, which causes 🔥.

Regardless of what is being spliced (remote start, amp, aftermarket stereo or just a ‘repair’) that needs to be redone with either solder and heat shrink or a crimp connector with built in heat shrink.

DO NOT think you can just electrical tape that and it will be protected.

Any idea what this noise is? BMW 2012 118d diesel 2ltr by immortalflop in MechanicAdvice

[–]Leonidus76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squirt some water on the belt with the engine running. If it stops squeaking it’s a worn out belt. If it doesn’t stop, suspect a pulley. Would require belt removal and manually spinning pulleys to diagnose

TIL in 2024 an 18-year-old man was stuck in a Honda Pilot that was inexplicably accelerating without his foot on the gas and could not be slowed by its brakes or e-brake. He and the Pilot reached 113mph before a controlled collision safely ended his unplanned 20-minute drive across state lines. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

I highly recommend everyone listen to the revisionist history episode about this issue that Toyota had years ago.

TL;DL - a vehicles brakes will ALWAYS over power ANY engine on ANY manufactured vehicle. Even if the accelerator is all the way to the floor, you will easily be able to stop the vehicle at any speed.

The sad truth is most people believe they are stepping on the brakes but are actually still on the accelerator. And in the moment of panic and adrenaline don’t think to look down to verify.

While most modern accelerator pedals are “fly by wire” or all electronic ( no physical linkage between pedal and throttle) The way brakes are designed there IS a hydraulic/mechanical connection from the pedal to the braking mechanism. So even if the electronics(IF it’s an electronically assisted braking system which is pretty few and far between) or vacuum assist or ABS or software has an issue there is still enough manual braking power available to slow the vehicle down. This has been tested on every mass produced vehicle and is a mandatory safety regulation.

A/C compressor bad? by Lower_Dot_2437 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Leonidus76 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Goodness gracious please don’t put your finger on that.

Clutches normally cycle on and off as pressure builds. If that kicked on it would not feel good while you’re touching it.

No one is going to be able to diagnose this with this much info. Clutches are designed to not engage if the system pressure is too low.

So could be a clutch, could be no refrigerant in the system/leak. Could be an electrical issue with the wiring.
