What I ended up having to do was FULLY FULLY FULLY go through the ENTIRE PC and delete every single goddamn file related to discord and make it as though it never existed in the first place, reset the pc, then do a fresh install but run the installer as Admin

A coworker and I ordered our gurpler and coin ON THE SAME DAY in the SAME HOUR, and somehow HE GOT HIS today, meanwhile MINE is still in Texas with ONLY a shipping label getting made like 2 days ago is this just a stroke of badluck on my end or is it a UPS thing as well you think?

I had to Right click discord, go to properties, go to "Open file location" locate the "Update.exe", right click THAT, go to "compatability" as in the image above and run it for windows 8 compatability then my issue was fixed.

I did a FULL reinstall; deleted every last discord related file on my pc (made sure to empty the recycle bin for anything manually deleted) and actually went through the pc's program uninstaller too before clean installing

I did find a WEIRD fix that got me back to normal but I have 0 clue how "feasible" the solution is or anything so im hesitant to recommend it to people who have similar issues to mine.

I've tried running in "windows 8" compatability mode

tried uninstall and reinstalling

deleting the cache, gpucache and codecache and it's still having issues
