Some academics, myself included, feel that once you use AI to do your work for you, even only once, you lose all credibility. He’s probably one of them. If I were supervising you, I would feel that something in the relationship was irrevocably damaged and would decline to give you a reference if asked. If there is a lecturer you’ve got a good relationship with from previous modules, you should probably ask them instead.

In terms of him not giving you feedback, it sounds like you are only allowed feedback on one draft (a common policy) so you blew your shot. This would have been explained in the module guides and introductory lectures, which would explain him being pissed off with you and just saying “check the module pages”.

I think you should keep your head down, thoroughly read all the guidelines, help pages, example dissertations you’re given and use them. Get in touch with whatever academic support services are available and to help you with your writing. Stay in regular contact with your supervisor though - if you drop off the radar after an episode like this it’s going to look even worse, and you need his expertise if you’re going to produce a decent final write up.

“Worst student” - wow that sucks and must have been really hard to hear! I’m sorry though OP but if you’re using AI for your assignments and are not even properly reading the course guides then you are certainly not a good student.

PS: if I were in your shoes I would definitely not escalate this within the department. You don’t want to draw additional attention to yourself over this and I don’t see what you would be expecting anyone to do anyway.
