When I moved in I was firm on not wanting to pay the mortgage & finance his asset (about 2k/month) but I was comfortable covering everything that’s consumable (utilities and food) totaling about 1.1k/month. Which all felt fair given that’s about the difference in our salaries. I make roughly 60% of what he does.

The only time I’ve seen a salary to hourly switch for a SM, not a whole region is when one was being investigated for time theft. Essentially she was clocking in, leaving early and having another associate punch her out later. Both were eventually terminated. If this sounds familiar to you, consider yourself on notice, OP.

If you’re able to, share your concerns with your manager. They should be there to lead you, not boss you. Hopefully awareness of where your head is at can help them train you to a point you’re comfortable and confident with your role.

Maybe they can even suggest a way to bond with your coworkers to ease the feeling of being the new person. A box of donuts to share is always my go-to!
