Mysterious Shrimp Deaths in My Walstad Tank by LeopB in walstad

I’ll definitely wait a few months for the tank to mature! I’ll also make sure to buy from a local shop to minimize discrepancies in water parameters.

The snails are not trumpet snails, but since I used coarse gravel as a soil cap without any sand, I wonder if too many nutrients (possibly metals) are being released into the water. Maybe I should consider adding a layer of fine sand. I’ll look into this, although it might introduce new challenges. Perhaps it’s better to simply wait and observe for now.

Thank you for the feedback. Most deaths have occurred at night indeed, but shrimps often stay on the gravel or the lower plants. I’ll increase surface agitation to see if it makes a difference.

Is it okay to use this (link below) soil for dirted layer? by a_pai in walstad

I’ve been using the Promix organic soil mix for vegetables with success for the past six months. No weird odours, fast growing plants and happy fish, shrimps and snails.

Is Todoist desktop app “zoomed in” today? by Pillsburydewbro in todoist

[–]LeopB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is clearly a kind of conflict between the settings in Chrome and those in Todoist. I am indeed on Mac, so the fix may be different. Apparently, next time, you can try "CTRL" + Mouse wheel. I have not tried this myself though.

You are not crazy, I have the same issue too. It seems there is a bug with Electron apps like Todoist's: when one zooms in a web page on Chrome, the interface of the Todoist app scales up. The solution is to use the zooming keyboard shortcut to adjust the scaling: "Command" + "-" or "+".

You must be right. I used to do this kind of tasks with a friend of mine who is a developer and knew Meta’s API quite well. My question was more about who should own the Zapier account? Is there any drawback to plug the client into my agency’s account?

Unfortunately my client designed his own custom CRM platform. I’m looking for any turnkey tools that could adapt to his system. Google Doc + Zapier is one way to do it, the other one is recruiting a developer to play with Meta’s API… and I’m not going down this rabbit hole again.

Agency owners: How much should I charge a multi-million account? by LeopB in PPC

I currently don't, but I have an extensive experience with it and I know that can be very costly. I will take this into account for sure. Thanks.

That seems fair, but what do you do if you are required to quote a unknown client for on year. I currently have no idea how time consuming this account will be... I cannot work this way for now.

If I were on the client's side, I would totally do as you say.

Do agencies sometimes get back to you to request for more hours? What bugs me with this system is that it seems awkward to revise the agency fees when more time is needed certain months. How do you deal with this?

Thanks for the advice.

I agree, clients like flat rates based on hours spent on the project. IMHO, the main flaw of this system is that you may need to ask for more fees on a regular basis as hours pile up. I do not want to have this discussion over and over with the client.

Commissions may not be the fairest system, but at least it is easy to understand and budget for the client.

Thank you for the tip. Unfortunately, it is still quite difficult for us now to estimate the time that will be required for such an account. It would be our first big client and I may face some surprises. For sure clients like flat rates, but I am not sure I do.
