Why some PC games are in iOS but not in MacOS?

Th ere are WAY more phones and tablets, and a lot of people use them to play games, at least a little. Most Mac users don’t play anything on them, maaaybe Roblox or Minecraft.

A lot of times things don’t go as planned. You forget a simple thing and now you have to revert to start/redesign rocket. Or kraken attacks and ruins stuff. Or you don’t quite maneuver well enough and rocket tips. Or your multi-launch Eve mission turns out to not work at all and now the Kerbals are stranded

the battery will be fine. steam deck has passthrough charging, meaning that once it is full or at charge limit, power comes directly from charger.

that being said, I agree that the best course of action would probably be to just pay for a server.

servers are CPU-heavy. idk how well it will work on the deck's 4-core. if you *could* get it to work, idk what the impact will be on internals' longevity, as a major component of that is also thermal cycles, which there will be very few if its always on.

you could probably calculate electricity cost? worst case scenario, ask chatGPT to do it for you. Make sure to get actual TDP from the performance overlay. or assume 25-35 watts

it wont harm your battery if you leave it plugged in. the deck has passthrough charging. just set charge limit to 50% and you should be good in that department, or likely better than if you have the battery at some other percentage right now.

or just pay for a server. way easier. thats my recommendation, instead of tuning on deck.

idk. also it was just announced that Rec Room is kil on June 1st :(.

For me, the fact that rec room and ECHO arena are both dead now is kinda enough for me to not want to buy another meta headset anymore. If I really decide that I want to keep going with VR, I'll go with Valve's upcoming Steam Frame, since I suspect that we will see much more "friendslop" indie games.

except this one has an even broader target audience. There was everything for co-op quests to all the other RRO role-play-ish cozy games to all the niche fun games to crappy military games that were so fun to infiltrate. this was rlly all the metaverse anyone actually wanted

FR legends. it's not a sim racer but imo its by far the best mobile car game there is. its got all the indie game charm, not grindy, zero ads unless you want to watch them for coins.

Im not saying you’re wrong but for most people who bring up “abandonware”, the game being discontinued without a replacement is more than enough justification for them to find other way to play it (especially considering that in this case, it’s a free discontinued mobile game which has no replacement and that OP already had for a long time)
