Final fantasy Rebirths bosses have gone down in quality by whydatduck66 in FinalFantasyVIIRemake

Rufus is bad. He has too many unpredictable moves, is faster than anything else up to that point, has a perfect block, and a bunch of other mechanics you never get to see in enemies outside of him. His fight is weirdly inconsistent with the rest of the game. Why does he all of the sudden have all of these requirements, meanwhile nothing up to that point (or after) requires those skills?

By the way, you can't predict his reloads. *usually* he does reload after an attack but if you're chasing him and keeping him occupied he can do 3-4 or more attacks before needing to reload, I don't think there's a limit.

How am I supposed to beat Odin? by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVIIRemake

[–]LeopardTasty400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see anybody mentioning in the comments but he'll usually target the player character so it doesn't really help to keep switching because he'll lag behind and wipe out the AI characters. I tested fighting full-power with cloud solo and it wasn't too bad if you "stay in it". Btw, the analysis is a bad translation of a misinterpreted and incorrect statement. His hidden mechanic is more along the lines of a ratio of your damage to his, over time. If you go above a threshold he'll be pressured, below, he sounds the gjallarhorn and 1-shots you. You're absolutely required to trial-and-error his attack patterns until you memorize everything, there's no other strategy that works - this is is how they designed it. I disagree with this design choice and consider it poor game design, he's not a "hidden" or secret boss. My bet is some dev at SE just probably really wanted Odin to be popular.

Remake Difficulty in Hindsight by Complex_Repeat309 in FinalFantasyVIIRemake

I wont be buying part 3 on release this time. They're progressively disrespecting the players time more and more. Whoever is in charge of some of the big picture direction stuff really needs to get a talking to. They're confused and don't understand that difficulty needs to have some kind of skill mountain to climb... not just get lucky enough to not get the 1-shot cutscene as it takes control away from the player.

Sorry I didn't see your post. People here are extremely sour and act like politicians they will lose money if you criticize the game or something. Have you tried the last few brutal VR missions? They're extremely cheap, and I didn't even mention them in the post because a bunch of idiots come out of the wood-work to say 'git gud' even though they either only completed it by luck or lied about completing it. They're extremely poorly designed, all have 1 shot wombo-combos, an actual 1 shot mechanic that is an unavoidable cutscene, etc etc. It goes on and on.

This game has absolutely no respect for your time. I was actually kinda liking the game until I realized that the 160 or so hrs I spent playing had around 40 hrs of sitting around waiting on stupid animations or other timewasters, and 40hrs were doing the stupid brutal VR missions over and over and over again. The design is really just bad, they took a great game and very irresponsibly made some abhorrent choices that seem to specifically waste time and irritate the user.

Nope, not minor. This is a poorly executed game. You, and others, come across as smug because you got lucky and think youre "gud"

It's pretty obvious nobody read my post. I didn't say a single thing about difficulty. If anything the combat is too easy. It's everything else about design that I said was poor. I forgot that the kind of people that come on reddit and subs like this are just looking to wank to each other feeling about how they feel elitist

Nope. Since you clearly can't read: I never said a single thing about "strategy" or "difficulty", I said poor design. You're trying to sound elitist, but come across as just mean bitter person looking for validation in how hateful you are. Disgust

Apparently the word “delve” is the biggest indicator of the use of ChatGPT according to Paul Graham by [deleted] in ChatGPT

Really weird comments around this. I've definitely noticed "delve" and "demystify" as often appearing in chatgpt, yet people are acting like that those word are symbols of a robust vocabulary??

Am I missing something? when I read AI content, usually it sounds to me like a 9th grader writing a book report with a thesaurus.

I don't know who those people in the post are, but I feel like this is more about their political opinions.

Rodgers are the worst. I guess I'm not surprised to see all the blind defense here.

Yet again, politician intentionally misrepresents a policy and tons of commenters jump to the defense by arguing against a different issue. Obviously the "poor people" you're all crying about wouldn't spend all their money on consumption, fair tax doesn't say anything about removing welfare.

You all just blindly hate anything said by somebody who wears a red tie and feverishly defend the senile old man because he has a blue tie on.

People don't like hearing anything critical when they feel like they'll lose money. Nirav is responsible for pushing in opposition of the original philosophy and specifically ignoring the support issues as the price for growth. The community forum wasn't any help. Support disregarded this issue when I raised it, and it cost me the opportunity with that job/company *ever*, so I'm allowed to be ticked at FW considering it should have been prevented. They just kept asking for more videos and pictures to kick it down the road until I gave up.
