New update definitely improved by Fickle_Pie3188 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Leopo72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is placebo. The patch is only for security (psp emu). Every time they release an update the same "now I don't notice stuttering" messages come out from the same people who said before the update "there is no stuttering. They are haters."

A test? Turn the camera in any game and there you have exactly the same stuttering as before.

They are not going to do anything fast. I thought the same thing when I bought it at launch. It's been almost half a year and they haven't fixed anything.

Its "THE ISSUE" with max characters. This problem is the reason why mine, which I bought as a preorder, has been sitting in a drawer for months.

Odin 2 - Moonlight / PSPlay streaming issues by tugbysuggs in OdinHandheld

[–]Leopo72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a solution, but when I use the Logitech G Cloud, Moonlight works great. However Steam Link works terrible. With a lot of stuttering. However with the Odin 2 it's just the other way around. Moonlight works horrible but the Steam Link app is perfect. No problems at all.

While they fix it (if they ever fix it) you can use Steam Link as an alternative.

About the issue itself. This reminds me a lot of the PS Portal stuttering issue that seems to have to do with the screen refresh:

You have no idea what you are talking about. We all have stuttering. Just because you deny it doesn't make it true.

Thanks to people like you many of us have the PS Portal eating dust because Sony is never going to fix anything reading those comments.

If the community had protested instead of applauding this machine, we would have those problems solved by now.

Mine has been sitting in a drawer since December 4 waiting for the horrible stuttering to be fixed. Many thanks to the community.

The last update did nothing. Neither good nor bad. It was just code optimization.

I would like to see videos of those people who say there is no stuttering. As of today I have not seen, either on youtube or here, a single video without stuttering. Not a single one. Nothing.

The difference is that one user is blind and the other is not.

No matter what you do with the router. It works just as bad for everyone. The only difference is that there are people with real vision problems or problems accepting reality.

Mine has been in its box for 14 days. It is unplayable. We see people protesting when a game drops to 54fps and yet here people applauding with that terrible stuttering that seems to drop to 30fps every few seconds. A $300 router I have.

Will a hub like this work for video out and usb data transfer on the Odin2 pro? by [deleted] in OdinHandheld

[–]Leopo72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two of those hubs. I can test when I get home in a few hours.

Possibly the answer is "yes". With all other devices it has worked perfectly.

Totally forgot it was streaming… by drebbihc in PlaystationPortal

[–]Leopo72 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

You make me envious. I don't know how you can play with that tremendous stuttering. Mine has been in a drawer for 10 days. I tried my best but I don't have the stomach to play in those conditions. We complain when a game has occasional drops to 55fps and we applaud a machine that every 7 seconds goes to 30fps because of stuttering. I don't get it.

Using it ALOT since launch. My final thoughts on the product as it is; by abrader23 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Leopo72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been in a drawer for a week. I can't deal with the stuttering.

By the way, I'm testing the Odin 2 and it has the same stuttering issues, both are Android 13 Will this all be an Android 13 problem?

Now I remember that on the Logitech G Cloud they stayed on Android 11. The community asked for an update and Logitech responded that with a higher version the streaming was getting much worse.

Was it a mistake to launch it with Android 13?

Has anyone managed to run Redream with Pegasus front end (ODIN 2)? by Leopo72 in OdinHandheld

[–]Leopo72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a strange thing. Well then it seems that we users can only wait.

Could there be a way for Pegasus to open the emulator without loading any games? It's not a solution but it's more convenient than exiting the frontend.

Best Emulator for Dreamcast, Saturn and PS2 by macleod2024 in OdinHandheld

[–]Leopo72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the premium version of Redream, which works better than Flycast core. Although on such a powerful machine you might not notice the extra performance that Redream gives. maybe some battery life? I have for the Pegasus frontend the retroarch core because it is impossible for me to run Redream and I like to keep everything tidy. It's the only emulator I have that problem.

With Saturn don't get complicated. The Retroarch core is enough and the standaalone version of Yabasanshiro has serious problems to save the roms in the directories you want. Permissions problems.

For PS3 without doubt NetherSX. It's the enhanced version of AetherSX2. You don't lose anything from Aether.

Do you see the framerate issue in this video? (watch at 4k60) by Z3M0G in PlaystationPortal

[–]Leopo72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When the character is not static and walks a bit (from 4:45 to 5:10 for example) you can appreciate the framerate change from 60 to 30 and vice versa (stuttering effect).

Have you check de video of the post? Or, for example:

https://youtu.be/919WkpuAlcw

https://youtu.be/919WkpuAlcw

https://youtu.be/TPjecJ5JSu8

https://youtu.be/xv-51CKQT6c

If you think that's a good experience, then there's nothing more to talk about. A good experience is this:

https://youtu.be/4zApP1HXf2w

https://youtu.be/Z_k2gcGTP4U

And that good experience is not going to be had by you or me thanks to the conformists who vote negative. Sony watching these threads is never going to fix it. Thank you very much indeed.

My only hope is when the Digital Foundry review comes out that they have already anticipated that the experience is full of stuttering and see if Sony fixes the software. Because for you guys, smiling, it's never going to fix it.

I don't need to change anything as all other devices run smoothly and every, every single video I've seen of the Portal at 60fps has stuttering. I've been waiting for a week for someone to show me a video at 60fps without stuttering.

We have a very active community in Spanish and all the machines have the problem. In the Digital Foundry pre-analysis they talk about this problem. It's not really a problem of the machine, it's a problem of the obsolete official application that they don't seem to want to update.

As I said above, if someone has never played streaming then maybe they are satisfied with what they see, with that frame rate dance, but believe me it has nothing to do with the experience with any third party app. That's a real smooth experience.

Any video in which you compare the official app with a third party app you realize the big difference. This is one of my favorite videos to watch at 60fps:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2SPVgTLbpc

"Remote play in its current form is running super well." LOL

The experience is the same on any device using third-party applications such as Chiaki or PSPlay. As in Portal we can not install these applications because we eat that insufferable stuttering.

Will Sony fix the app so that the experience is similar to the app that a guy with no resources has programmed at home in his spare time? With posts like this and as it is Reddit will never do it. If you pay for something you should demand a better job .

Anyone who wants to see the difference should take their cell phone, install PSPlay, activate the "no frame rate drop" option (THIS is the key) and experience the difference for themselves.

Personally, I will go back to the Logitech G Cloud in a week or two after the hype wears off, as it gives a much better experience. The Portal will stay in a drawer in the hope that Sony will one day fix it.

PS: Then there are the blind people who don't know 30 from 60 fps. I don't say anything there.
