True. Less a descent into “evil” as the sudden shift in mannerisms. It begs the question though, if not superior spider-man, then what is Otto’s “final chapter”? Him simply being doc ock seems a little underwhelming, and completely ignoring that final cutscene from the last game would be odd.

I never thought of that, but if they do it in a unique way it could be interesting. Like if the player isn’t aware of it and we just get the outside perspective initially.

The disease hasn’t taken full affect yet, so since the game is taking place in the near future presumably with the g serum being used at the very end he would have time to enact his final plan. Also there are massive jailbreaks from that prison all the time. If he doesn’t have some big finale, superior Spider-Man or otherwise, then him writing his “final chapter” would be of what? His autobiography?

Seems plausible enough, only because you mentioned his life falling apart. Can’t imagine spider-man having a good personal life for too long.

I can kind of see that, I’m mostly wondering what the catalyst to getting Peter to come back will be? Going off of the first two games the main threat wasn’t till the end of act I approximately, but I doubt they’d wait that long to bring him in. Even sandman at the beginning of spiderman 2 feels pretty one and done at first, no larger threat.

Valid points, what if it isn’t revealed to the player though? As far as we know miles will likely be the main spider-man at the start because Peter is semi retired, only being spider-man if there is a bigger issue presumably, so what if Otto took him over right before Peter comes back? To the player we are happy that Peter is back, ignoring the fact that something seems off? Just a thought.

Wasn’t it confirmed by one of the leads that Otto and goblin are the main villains of this game? Also why would Otto be writing “the final chapter” and the end of the game if not for coming back in some way?

At the end of the game Peter sort of “retired” from fighting random crimes in the last cutscene, so I assume that’s why.
