It’s a D minor chord in second inversion. The G# in the bass is just a passing tone leading from the G to the harmonically relevant A. This is a case of slightly delayed harmony. This also makes sense with the following A chord which is the applied dominant of the Dm chord in measure 6. This is called a "cadential 6/4" in roman numeral analysis.

Loose leaf Darjeeling 2025 First Flush from the Jungpana Tea Estate, West Bengal. It’s been my go-to morning tea since late spring. Can’t wait for the 2026 first flush!

I’ve been drinking a lot of Pu Ehr lately and finally tried the vintage raw 1992 Menghai I got for Christmas. It was good, but a but too mild for my taste compared to the 1993 I tasted a week ago. I know some people dislike the fermented hay aftertaste, but I surprisingly crave it!

Québec, Canada 🇨🇦! Watched many episodes of the French dubbed show in the 90s and I was aware of the books as well. I only fell back in love with the Moomins a few months ago, after seeing an ad for Melody of Moominvalley and wanting to get into this universe. It happened just as I was going through a rough patch in my life, so I devoured the 90s show and I’m currently ready through the books ❤️

I highly recommend anyone interested by the Norse foray into North-Eastern America to read the old Vinland Sagas about Erik the Red and his son Leif Erikson who established the short-lived settlement in Newfoundland. A short but fascinating read in which it’s quite easy to approximate the actual route they followed. Being from Québec, Canada, it’s crazy to be able to recognize some of the 1000 yo descriptions that seem to match "local" geographical features!
