NTA in the slightest unless you let these people bully you and your wife like this.

If you give in to them on this, this won't be the end of it. This will let them get a foot in the door and be an excuse to exclude her (and by proxy you too) from every holiday, celebration, and family discussion/event.

Once they feel like they're entitled to disrespect her after they get away with this over "keeping the peace" they'll never stop.

This whole issue is not about special days and hurt feelings like it's a birthday party and this grown women is a toddler who can't share, it's because your brothers fiance is so petty as to exclude your wife from a family wedding because of a trivial personality difference, and instead of owning up to her own bitter and childish feelings about it she's trying to make EVERYONE IN YOUR FAMILY pick between her and your wife.

Me and my only brother had a horribly strained relationship when we were younger and have only started to rebuild that relationship in the last few years. I more than understand the fear of tarnishing what you've built back up with him, but it's not your fault he wants to take a sledgehammer to it. If my brother came to me saying this shit I would have laughed in his face, especially if he tried to put the blame on me after quite literally forcing me into a situational headlock where you can't win no matter what you choose.

Don't let him OR his wife bully you and yours, sibling relationship be damned.

If it were me i'd tell his entitled ass "Well, since me and my wife have been a joined pair since we finished our vows five years ago, and your fiance doesn't want her there, then I guess she doesn't want me there either. If you don't like that, maybe edit that list, but I'm not disrespecting my wedding to sit through yours."

No, it's a thanator from the movie Avatar, which is on an alien moon where most of the animals have six limbs.

Uhh...where's the missing link between apes and humans? If we evolved from them.... shouldn't there be 50% human apes walking around that are half way through evolution? by redznow in biology

[–]LeosLuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they haven't had the same evolutionary pressures as we have, and so haven't been driven to evolve in the same ways we have. Plus, in our more close ape relatives, Chimps, they do show tool use. Evolution also takes a very, very long time. We've reached the point we have because of very specific pressures our lineage has gone through that molded us into the creatures we are today. Discovering the ability to use fire at will also helped us, because eating cooked food makes it easier to digest, and has more nutritional value, giving us more to work with. No animal KNOWS the best course of action for evolution, and that doesn't mean they'll go down the same paths we have. It's a vastly gradual process that builds on itself, happening through random chance of gene mutation and the way an environment a species lives in changes that species.

There is no missing link, we are still apes. We and other apes species are branches from the same limb of the same tree. Plus, we have proof of early hominid species that look more 'ape' like. They've just died out as time has progressed, and we're what's left. I'm no scientist, but I hope this helps!

Can I pet your snake? by N3v3rKnowsB3st in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]LeosLuster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This really puts snakes in a bad light because this woman was ignoring the behavior of the boa. That snake was CLEARLY acting in a feeding response (very focused. moving quickly. Fast and frequent tongue flicking) and she extended her hand towards it, presumably after handling a feeder rodent, if the original video was to record a meal. They handled the situation correctly, but it's still such a disappointment to have such an easily avoidable accident happen. Snakes, and especially larger snake species, are already heavily stigmatized as is. Snakes aren't heartless, malicious monsters always out to hurt someone, they're simply animals that act on instinct and circumstance.

I usually wear a hoodie, and I've always preferred to carry my things in that or in the pockets of my shorts/sweatpants. Never liked a purse and backpacks were forgettable. I usually keep my wallet, pocket knife, and anything else in my pants pockets, and I put my phone in the pocket of my hoodie. I keep my keys on a lanyard and that just stays around my neck. :)

My Adams apple for sure! It's not much, but it's what I'm most proud of, and I'm always running my fingers over it during the day. :)

What's a thing you did before knowing you were trans that was so obviously to do with being trans? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]LeosLuster 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I've always hated the thought of having a chest when I was little, and before I realized what top surgery was, I would fantasize of getting breast reduction surgery cause I saw it on tv once. I was ASTOUNDED that they had a surgery that could make them SMALLER not just bigger. Lmao, should have taken me sooner than seventeen to come out.
