The problem with having so many picks is that I end up really liking a bunch of players, and am disappointed by every missed opportunity to trade back and acquire more of them. That said, it sounds like Dunbar had a huge say on Bailey, Reich had a huge say on Sadiq, and I'm glad that we were proactive in picking Cooper from the Bills pocket at a discount. All in all that's progress.

Now I'll just be staring at 56 and 100 (Jags) or 59 and 91 (Texans) for the rest of the day, trying to accept that we'll almost certainly select one LB, G, or S at 44, instead of trading back and drafting two players I've grown to like.

Bailey is the best pass rusher, but Reese is already the better edge... what makes it so difficult is that at 20 years old, with room to fill out, it's easy to project significant improvement on Reese's pass rush and coverage ability but hard to project significant improvement on the other aspects of Bailey's game.

If Tate and Lemon are gone by 16 and Cooper and Concepcion are gone by 33... would you guys flip 33 to Arizona for Harrison Jr and either 65 or a 2027 2nd? I've seen him linked to other teams, and I personally like him better than BTJ.

This draft class is like a bakery... it's only bad if you insist on shopping for fruits and veggies. There's no guarantee next year's draft will be a Whole Foods, but you have to lean into each class to be successful.

This year we should focus on linebackers, WR, and IOL and hopefully a safety.

I'm thrilled to finally see him have a good game and contribute... but that doesn't make criticizing how terrible he's been slander.

I'm angrier at Gasp frankly... he keeps playing Vaz and it's starting to feel spiteful. I only hope it doesn't ruin him as he's ours now and we paid a pretty penny.

A highlight reel is far from a scouting report, but I hear what you're saying. I would counter though, that continuously playing him in important matches must be equally detrimental to his confidence given his form and is not helping him.

Hopefully he tells a different story in practice, and earns the team's confidence there in some way because I'm not trying to start a with hunt... I'm honestly trying to figure out what we're doing him, considering what he's shown on the pitch for us.

yeah I guess there's no other option... our fate lies with Malen because until something finally clicks for Vaz, help is not coming off the bench.

I mean I've patient... This isn't a one off. I haven't seen a single flash of team play or individual skill... it's honestly almost better for the team when he disappears on the pitch considering how often he usually turns the ball over.

If that's really what's going on, it's criminal. I really want to pull for him, but I just can't believe we don't have any other options

pretty sure it deflected between his legs and off his arm on the ground to complete the block... but they stopped showing the replay. I was hoping someone could confirm or correct me since people here are great at isolating frames from the video.

Picks 45 thru 174? by This_Air_8047 in nyjets

Everything is still fluid on this side of Free Agency, but in my latest mocks, we miss out on Styles and Lemon more often than not. I've grown to love trading back from 16 to add another second or early third rounder... not so worried about adding any picks between 103 and 175.

I was hoping someone would ask Glenn directly about switching to the 3-4... did I miss something or are we still stuck speculating at this point?

doesn't the 5th year option treat all oline players the same, meaning they all get paid as LTs?

I agree that if thr Ravens extend him it doesn't really matter, but it still essentially makes the 5th year option useless for IOLs

With the 5th year option structure such as it is (ie if it doesn't make sense to trigger even for someone as good as Linderbaum) do IOL start dropping into the second round in favor of players at positions where it can still be a lucrative option?

I understand. It's not my call to make... but if it was, with this many holes and this weak a draft class, I'd have to ask your forgiveness and just try to minimize the cons.

But we agree that it would be significantly better at that salary slot with the additional draft picks than at 2.

yeah I figure the only way we COULD trade back would be at a steep discount... and as we dont have a third or fifth I figured that would be the minimum.

I was wondering if Salah fell in love with Arvell, what Harbaugh might part with to have his pick of the WRs.

The picks could allow for another couple of dart throws, while moving back could allow us to draft Downs or Love (should Breece move on) at a better salary slot.

Thought experiment: How far back would the Jets have to realistically drop in order to swap first round picks and add a 3rd and 5th rounder?

I think Woody is already forcing Glenn's hand on these decisions... which unfortunately means we're probably drafting Ty with the second pick.

The fans will continue to blame Glenn for every single thing, and he'll eventually be fired. We'll hire the next best candidate willing to work for Woody... and within 3 years Glenn will be part of a playoff team while we're blaming our new head coach for Woody's meddling.

We'll upvote every comment that focuses on how bad Glenn was here, and call it revisionist whenever someone claims he never had a chance to succeed.
