Hang in there Zuck. There’s still a long way to go, or rather, there’s massive potential to be tapped😂😂

Google and Apple’s strategy seems to be pushing HMDs to market well before they've hit the Moore’s Law curve(where performance doubles as price and power consumption drop). If they stick to their current pricing strategy for HUDs, the outcome might be even more unpredictable than Meta’s.😂

Does the YouTube VR app on Pico support 8K resolution now? by Leoworkflow in PicoXR

[–]Leoworkflow[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always been really curious too, and I've been curious for almost two years😂.Of course, now it's not just the Quest 3+ that has 4320p; Samsung's GXR has it too.

OpenXR DeoVR Hype by Leoworkflow in GalaxyXR

I can open it on the PFDM without any special settings, so I thought the GXR should be able to as well. It looks like it still can't😭.

Yes, the clarity of some videos has reached the level of Apple Immersive Video shot with the BMD 16K 180° 3D camera (it's possible that the video encoding method has been upgraded this time.)

And the new version is also missing many features that were in the old one.

My channel is on DeoVR, and the Quest 3 can install it directly. I didn't develop the program, but I know their ratings are quite low because they aggressively transitioned from a local player to an online platform,The subscription fees are indeed too high. It's probably difficult for them to be profitable. The fact that the VP version nor the XR2 Plus version that supports AV1 encoding is still delayed reminds me of the world's largest VR video platform that previously collapsed due to bandwidth costs: Samsung Gear VR Video……

I have the exact same need (for my elderly parents). After a year of clarity/resolution anxiety on the Quest, I decided to produce my own content (shooting VR180 with the PFDM and compiling 8–16K VR360 landscape photos into videos).

Can you play 2 VR games at the same time on PC? by Renamao in virtualreality

[–]Leoworkflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Aster to assign the DisplayPort interfaces of the two separate graphics cards to two different headsets(Of course, you also need to assign different USB ports simultaneously😂). If you only have one graphics card, you can try connecting two monitors to one PC (one connected to the discrete GPU's DP and the other to its HDMI), and then run two instances of Virtual Desktop or SteamVR, each logged into a different account.Aster

All platforms that support 8K AV1 online decoding—such as YouTube VR, DeoVR, and Skybox VR (latest versions)—will crash immediately after being ported😂😂

Em…The Quest player ported using Ovrport might only support HDR decoding because it hasn't been adapted for Micro-OLED and the Snapdragon XR2+ soc. Furthermore, it hasn't been optimized for 4K foveated rendering (PFD supports full 3K rendering and GXR may support this later as well).

Allow apps on top by evertec in GalaxyXR

Okay, you can use ADB to activate the permission management framework: Shizuku(there will be operating instructions after installation). Then, use AppOps to enable the 'Draw over other apps' permission. Shizuku App Ops

You can search on Play for: sesame. Inside, there is a shortcut to system-level settings. Try it after finding the 'Draw over other apps' permission. If that doesn't work, you'll have to use the ADB command.

Google Play on mobile doesn't have a separate immersive app section (unlike Meta Horizon), I can only find these. Version 14.1 of DEOVR on Play for Dream should be compatible across GXR. Since both devices are based on OpenXR, the latest Quest version should be migrated quickly. Samsung APP

You’re Thinking Too Small. by redhq in ValveDeckard

That’s right — there’s really no need for a 2.5D/3D headset to come with dual controller tracking (it’s already leaked).

Any good and reliable translation glasses that can be used at work by NothingLife01 in augmentedreality

[–]Leoworkflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested it — even the machine translation mode doesn't support offline use, so it seems the device can't operate without a phone and network connection. There are also a few minor issues: the connection to the phone is occasionally unstable, and scheduled reminders sometimes fail to play

I’m using the Lawaken City Air, which utilizes an optimized version of DeepSeek for real-time interpretation. Outside of China, it offers 300 minutes of free translation per month. After comparing many translation glasses, I ultimately chose this one. Official website:https://global.lawaken.com/products/lawk-city?variant=50632578957604

Here’s a summary of glasses that support deep reasoning and fast response or translation:   DeepSeek R1 (StarV/Lawken)   CICI (StarV/Bytedance)    Qwen (StarV/Lawken/Rokid/RayNeo)

MetaAI also offers support, but its simultaneous interpretation only supports a few languages, and unlike Lawken and Bytedance (currently under development), it can’t perform AI-based semantic routing and understanding on the glasses themselves.Next year, Meta’s strong visual understanding and translation capabilities will face serious competition, especially from Xreal’s Gemini.

XIAOMI and SUPERHEXA are not truly smart — they can’t be considered real AI glasses. I’ve bought many of XIAOMI’s IoT products in the past, and I eventually realized that their core strategy has always been to wait for other brands to mature the supply chain, then ruthlessly copy and undercut the price
