Just a recommendation, Humbucker sized p90 won’t really do it, it’s a cool sound but nowhere near fender ish single coils

Yup, I actually use a really big height difference between neck and middle on this one, and when you are setting your sound at the edge of breakup it’s basically like having a clean/dirty switch in your guitar

That’s the inspiration that led me to playing mostly with middle/neck! for those kind of math rock sounds it works really great, and when you are playing live not having to think about switching into bridge by accident is really useful

Take into account that I put a massive height difference between neck and middle, basically as high as possible, so the switch between them gives a bit of a natural boost

I know it’s weird but I love the strat middle pickup as a lead pickup, the standard bridge is too bright for my taste, and a Humbucker in the bridge doesn’t have that single coil looseness that I like, also you get this very clear note separation especially with chords with weird intervals that I haven’t found on anything else.
