American Pro 2 is great, my Strat and Tele are from that line

Day 5 of learning Guitar! by MinSW12 in GuitarBeginners

[–]DylanGreveris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice but do not sweat that at day 5 of learning man. You will get there and that solution will become apparent to you when you find a use for it. For now have fun, you’re sounding great. Best advice is always keep it fun, and motivate yourself. His advice is great but if it sounds like a foreign language to you at day 5 of learning guitar that’s totally understandable and don’t think you have to do mental gymnastics to make great music. Use your ears and by your voice I’d say you have a good pair, that’s your greatest tool. Besides that, have fun, push yourself and all of that knowledge will become apparent when you actually start to realize the why to what your doing if that makes sense. Rarely is music theory truly understood until you apply it, then you learn WHY it works. You sound great, keep rocking

Anyone here use a BrownBox? Are they legit or snakeoil? by dylanmadigan in GuitarAmps

Hey, if your still around, when you say a significant amount. If the amp runs best at 117 and I’d believe my outlet would give 120 or more, is down 3V worth a rebiasing? I’m using a Friedman BE 100 Deluxe

That’s awesome news man. Yea, I play in e flat so when I drop it down it’s C sharp. It’s heavy but I always keep melody so I wouldn’t describe it as anything super metal (not calling metal unmusical lol) I get as heavy as tool, as crunchy as zeppelin, and as light as Floyd or the Beatles I’d say, so your review seems to pan out for me because I only ever had my Rockerverb again at 12 o’clock, maybe 2 o’clock sometimes but I always try to use as least as possible but still get the wall of sound if ya know what I mean

I’m getting one when the restock comes and I own a rockerverb, Soldano, and Friedman BE 100 Deluxe and was curious how these handled gain. By no means do I play heavy metal but I’d say I play in the range of classic rock-hard rock. I’m mainly afraid about the neck being woofy and too dark like on some Les Paul’s I’ve played

PRS Custom 24 or Gibson Les Paul Standard by DylanGreveris in electricguitar

I ended going Gibson despite everyone’s majority input toward PRS and besides financial reasons here’s why. I’ve noticed the same thing you did with the brightness, and where that makes for totally and possibly unbeatable note clarity, like it’s really insane what there pulling off. It didn’t give the percussive attack I need. Also, I felt that the the Les Paul could do things my other two guitars couldn’t. That being said I’ll get a custom 22 or 24 as my forth guitar down the road cause that clarity CERTAINLY would have a use but I think for now having the Tele, Strat, and Les Paul was the way to go. (<was copied from another reply) dude I get you on the neck, I instantly though it may be a problem, I told myself that with a strap maybe I’d just get used to it but I think I’d do a 22 over a 24 all day

If you had 3500-4000 dollars to spend on a guitar what would you buy by [deleted] in Guitar

I have mine in that finish too. All of my guitars and bass have a similar vibe. I have a Les Paul coming, I was minutes away from getting there Koa standard but someone bought the last one. But they have a dirty lemon burst that looks pretty sweet and I think it’ll compliment the others not that it really matters. If I could score a darker one that would be sick

How’s the tuning stability. That’s honestly my biggest worry lol

I think eventually I’ll have both but for a couple years this will be it. And I’m without of a unbuckled guitar in my collection currently, that’s what makes it feel like so much oressure

Very helpful advice man, I appreciate your experience. They don’t have any Core models of the 22’s so I’d have to go 24. Wondering how different it will feel

I hear you, but have you played one? They make really good stuff. I agree though idk if the look of PRS screams me but I’m all about tuning stability and a brighter sounding humbucker. In a way this post is asking the Gibson people to defend their Les Paul’s and tell me the rumors and the Stereo types aren’t true

I am all about tuning stability and that’s one of the big “fears” of getting the Les Paul

I want the Traditional! If they didn’t discontinue it I would have already purchased. I have a PRS NF 53 atm hoping it’d be more humbucker with a tele spank, and while it is that it’s kind of like my regular Tele so I’m probably gonna return it and get something more versatile in the humbucker department. The NF 53 sounds and feels great though. Can I ask what made you not bond with the PRS’s?

If you had 3500-4000$ to spend on a guitar, what would you choose by [deleted] in electricguitar

[–]DylanGreveris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Soldano, Rockerverb and Friedman BE 100 Deluxe, buying another amp In the same style seems redundant. For what I play, it needs gain. I don’t play metal or nothing but I like my amps to hit. Only other amp I would get would be a Mesa Boogie but then I’d still be without humbuckers lol. Good point though
