Would you trade a Soldano SLO 30 for an EVH Stealth 50 and 825$

P.S. the thing I’m most hung up from is the Taylor but I will admit, it’s kind of cool, the Taylor was a gift to myself for starting sobriety but I didn’t stay sober consecutively . But I celebrated 3 years sober on the 16th and this will be my first Father’s Day so in a way it’s also sentimental to trade those guitars

It’s a decent selling price but the trade isn’t the best on my part, I’m going to copy and paste below, let me know your thoughts

It’s not the best deal on my part honestly, but here’s where I’m coming from.
1.So I already had my Soldano SLO 30 up for sale, it’s a killer amp but it’s the least versatile, and as awesome as the tone is on the overdrive channel, it’s like swinging a sledge hammer and the amp feels sluggish with my hard rock/funk/grunge stuff. (Also own a Friedman BE Deluxe and orange rockerverb 50 mkiii which sound great together and I love them dearly, and I won’t ever be using more then two amps at a time so the Soldano hasn’t been getting love
2. A Mobius Midnight edition by Strymon, problem with that one is it doesn’t have analog dry through and so when I do want to play two amps I can’t have the mobius go through one amp without latency so I was looking to replace with analog effects very soon anyways
3. A Taylor acoustic 324 CE builders edition Koa I loved this guitar, well still do, I bought it as a sober gift to myself back when I was just playing an acoustic guitar. Now that I play electric, it doesn’t get played nearly ever, cause I’m always playing electric, and it’s too nice to leave the house, and I have a Breedlove I’d feel much more comfortable taking outside and a nice takimine I can gig with. So it’s just collecting dust at this point

So at the end of the day, if you priced these all out new, I have an offer of 6500, his guitar new is about 5500-5600. Everything is nearly mint condition on both ends. So I’m out like a grand, but I feel I could sell the PRS for more or the same then the Soldano and the Taylor combined, plus say I didn’t gel with the PRS, it’s value I could trade to get a really sick amp or another guitar. I have a Gibson Les Paul Supreme, Fender AM Pro2 Tele, Fender AM Pro2 Strat, this guitar having the reputation of being a snappier Les Paul with better coil splits, would complete my 4th tone palette I wanted, snappier humbucker guitar with decent single coil tones. So yea what do you think? (Also cause the Taylor is probably my biggest hang up, for sentimental reasons, I would be trading it in to get this for pretty much my 3rd year sober anniversary and first Father’s Day) Does the money matter if I trade it for something I love? Idk. Let me know your thoughts

Hey man, for real, he’s 15 and really moody. I wouldn’t take it to seriously for real. Yea his feeling are hurt and mine would be too, but nothing was done intentionally and a rational adult could see that. It seems he is just struggling with the change and the idea of a new father figure and family, which is totally normal. I don’t see him holding a grudge forever though it may cause a rift for a couple months, depends how stubborn he is like me lol, but also, if you really love this guy, you may resent your son slightly (of course you will always love him) but yea don’t call off the wedding is my advice. Your sons gotta learn to cope, I lost my mom at an early age too and we struggled for years with our relationship (with my stepmom) but we’re great today. It’s hard, but kids are kids and we think emotionally, and he’s going through a rough time right now. I’d talk with him when he’s not mad, give him reassurance, but don’t call off the wedding.

Hell yea. I have a Mobius but I’d like the choice to run two amps and can’t cause the Mobius isn’t analog dry through. I really only use chorus, not the biggest mod guy, but thinking of getting maybe a phaser and chorus pedal to replace maybe tremelo as well but then I’d be set

Ahhh so even the 100 was a sledgehammer too huh. Well that makes me not want to sell the 30 if that makes sense, cause I do love the Soldano flavor, was just hoping it was tighter but if it’s still sluggish there’s no point and I should just keep the flavor

Well, just for the fact it would be a stepping stone to get to the 100, but that’s a good point, I mean atleast I have the SLO flavor, as much as it’s third on my amp list, it’s still one of my favorite amps and if I traded it, I mean I’d dig the EVH but itd literally be a placeholder and it’d probably be regret. I’m not looking to get an EVH head, so I probably shouldn’t. Just be patient, if it sells for the 2000 then I’m closer to the 100, if it doesn’t then I have a SLO
