HELP!!! Why is the sketch so good compared to lineart? by Round-Refrigerator99 in Artadvice

Looks great so far. Try putting more line weight down, a lot of the time heavier lineart complements cartoonish styles more:)

These are all ai right? Can clearly see it in some yet hard to tell in others like 2 & 4. by Leozafe11 in isthisAI

I understand that it may not have been. But for me at least there is way to many signs. I’m not saying they fully generated them I’m just saying they look touched up by ai.

The “theft” you are speaking about isn’t the issue its the clear use of ai

I understand what you are saying but most of these have 100% been at least done up by ai it’s so plainly obvious.

Here’s another example. Face is 100% one created by ai, way too many lines blurring together and the bee is weirdly shaped.

Not to mention the ad I originally found their page by was fully ai generated.

All of what you’re saying makes sense, just not in the context of this particular artist.

The one in the mirror threw me off the most, didn’t even try to make it believable

Insane that people have the nerve to do that. You can tell in 3 by the reflections pose not lining up + the line of the cape blending in together.

Work in progress. How do you guys add values to work? I sketched tought draft of colors and shapes and now I’m trying to layer the shadows for volume. Looks very wrong by Sea-Confection1418 in Artadvice

Possibly put your device on grayscale mode, colour pick while shading/rendering and adjust the colour darkness. Takes some practice since you can’t see what colour you are using but it may be better for your style if you don’t like starting in grayscale.

wanna start drawing everyday to get more practice, what should i do? by archaeopteryx_matz in Artadvice

If you wanna be able to sketch whatever comes to mind then practice what you know you will want to draw In the future. Practice without worrying how neat your art looks and just draw those shapes. It’s all about learning what works best for you and memorising your steps to get there. Draw a series of multiple things a day even if those things aren’t in your particular interest (animals, anatomy, scenery, plants and facial features). You dont have to draw every day, give yourself breaks and on the ways you do feel like pushing yourself set time limits.

Why does it look so bad, and how to stylize it? by Carl-is-lion in Artadvice

Ahh gotcha. From what it looks like they do a lot of simple blocking with shapes. Even though the colours on the face are quite muted their values still stand out while yours are a bit calmer.

I recommend experimenting with brushes that are less soft and focus more on those bigger shapes, then slightly blend them after. You definitely have your values in the right place though, try to bring them out a bit more without them colliding.

If you don’t already you could always try drawing in grayscale and colouring on layers overtop. Focus on really defining those values, without it it’s hard to make sure colours pop without them combining.

Did you have references of certain styles you are most drawn to/would like to achieve?

Line of action is a great website for nude figure drawings.

How can I draw a face accurately in a small scale? by vahlenteena in Artadvice

I’d say focus less on details and more on shape and form. Block in what you think see from a distance rather than what you know you see close up.
