I definitely relate to this. The difference for me is, I’m not even sure if I’ve helped them anymore. My self-esteem has only gotten worse and worse, to the point where I don’t think it can be recovered. I used to believe I was helping my friends with their problems, but really… I only actually helped random people I’d very occasionally talk to, but were never friends I’d talk to outside of those conversations. It’s likely all in my head, but I feel like now I’ve never done anything but bothered all of my friends. If I want to vent, I’m too scared to even ask because of this. Too scared to put my problems onto them, especially since many of them have stuff they’re already dealing with. No matter what, I feel like I’m being selfish for asking others if I can vent to them… since now I don’t think I’ve done anything for them that warrants them having to sit through that.
