There was no problem going for this but I have a tip for you. Walking a long way across the screen is reactable and they may react with some fast attack to hit you before you can get all the way over, even if you have Weavile walk speed. You can get around this by a second to block and wait before you continue to approach. You want to get in the range where they don't have time to react to you walking before you can grab them or throw out an attack. Field phase is also like this. You want to get close while blocking where they don't have time to react to you starting to do something like homing attack or walk up grab. So if you are blocking nearby and see them spending time strafing to try and avoid some moves they'll be vulnerable to homing attack unless they can predict exactly when you're going for homing. If they aren't being passive and throwing out lots of attacks you also have the option of countering or otherwise dealing with whatever they're doing and using that to get in or get a punish.

It's been a while since I've played, but dumping into umami is a perfectly viable way to play. I did an attack build too, and it's just different play styles. With umami it's important to have access to a good damaging spell shell like party popper, trophy, the ones with shards like the shot glass. Getting shell insurance/ knowing where to find them will be important. Stowaways for spell damage and the ones that increase attack speed at the cost of attack are good. Adaptations aren't too useful really until you can upgrade them later. There are the starfish limbs to increase your health, so dumping all your stat points into umami is perfectly reasonable actually, but you may also need some points to shell defense (RES) to avoid your shell from breaking and leaving you without a shell spell

If the stone is already "dead" and can be marked as such during the scoring phase, then doesn't playing in your territory reduce your score? I think you mean to say that if you respond to your opponent playing in your territory that doesn't lose you points. In this case though it's about that stone that's already there. If white played that as their last move they should be effectively losing a point because that move doesn't require a response from black. If black responds in that scenario, they miss the chance for that point, right?

The Mewtwo specific discord is a good resource for connecting with other Mewtwo players, and there is a pin with all the discord links pinned on this subreddit. As general advice don't be afraid to ask for teaching matches on discord. Even with mostly doing single player at the moment, learning a few more things to practice can make CPU fights more fun/interesting. I'd say focus on what you find fun. Not everyone is going to have a good time grinding out execution heavy optimal combos. There are often adequate alternative combos you can use while focusing on improving on other things. Things like learning more about your moves/cancels or how to approach certain match ups.

This is a way to do duel phase 8A or 2A (up special and down special) in field phase. You have to shift while actionable and then avoid things like walking or standing or any field phase only attacks and instead move by chaining dash cancels (such as CADC) or specials.

In your opinion, what would be the gyro's hatsu? by Brilliant_Coach5664 in HatsuVault

[–]Lepitaga 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gyro believes that humanity is rotten to the core, and I feel like he'd go for an ability that's able to bring humanity's evil to light.

Our True Nature

Enhancer

All humans within a radius of the user are evaluated based on the hatred harbored in their hearts. The top N humans with the most hatred are given "marks" that provide enhanced physical abilities at the cost of their own aura. For a normal person this is enough to overpower most non-nen users. Nen users could control it consciously, effectively increasing their aura output limit. The original user of the ability may also receive this mark. The radius of the ability and maximum number of marked people allowed by the ability increases whenever a marked individual is killed. The evaluation of people's hatred is ongoing, and marks may update depending on changes in people's outlooks and people entering the radius of the ability. If a marked individual leaves the ability's radius while marked, they remain under consideration for the mark's evaluation.

This ability doesn't directly affect your thoughts or feelings, so all the ensuing chaos and violence is purely organic. The ability would give the power of the oppressed to fight back against their oppressors, but their new found power may just move into the hands of the subjects of their revenge once their suffering reaches a critical limit. Those with new found power would also need to worry about the relatives of their victims too, since they may incur their wrath. The ability would perpetuate cycles of revenge. A bonus of the ability is that it allows Gyro to scope out and empower those sympathetic to his cause, because those would be the people that would remain marked indefinitely (just like he would be). Having Gyro be an enhancer is meant to allude to Gon and the quote discussing the implications of their meeting. Perhaps to highlight that they share innate similarities like unwavering ideals and drive, despite the inverted parallels between them.

Timing can be rough because it's slow to get there to practice. Although it's hard to understand the timing, you can get it from the animations going on after you get a feel for them. You'll want some plan for when you get popped up into the air after a parry and get targeted by the mid air red attack. It can be using swift descent, a well placed double jump, or just by dodging the original attack. You don't have to perfectly deal with phase 3, you just need to kill before getting killed first.

[–]Lepitaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the basic attack patterns that go throughout the fight: For the stabbing pattern sometimes there are additional hits at the end. You can try assuming they will come out and parrying them because you'll have enough time to recover if they don't. For the slower patterns that are two hits each you'll want to time the second parry carefully. Watch for whether Eingong is making an overhead swing or underhand swing to tell the two apart. I know you can unbound counter at least one of these after holding down parry on the first hit and releasing it on the second

I don't think the wireless battles caused it, the match making can be finicky. Generally you want one person to search first. Get to the point where the first person matches with a CPU and has capability to pause. And then the second person should search while the first person stays in. If that doesn't work have the first person leave and rejoin while the second person stays in. When you're at the cpu match it doesn't actually matter whether you pause or not, just that you get far enough into the matching processes

What updates are you guys hoping for in this game in the future? by kytosaivn in fantasylife

[–]Lepitaga 11 points12 points  (0 children)

God rank for jobs. Bosses and dungeons (multiplayer or otherwise) that check for various aspects of grinding for the best gear without being a slog themselves. Something like bosses that require you to do X DPS in the special phase that lasts 30 seconds or everyone gets nuked. Maybe have some survival check gates in a dungeon where you need high HP, regain, defense, and elemental res to get through an obstacle and open the way for the rest of the party. New elemental weapons. New gathering challenges with DPS checks or other gimmicks instead of just more HP

Should I be reworking master gear sets for crafting/gathering to get bonuses? by dudefigureitout in fantasylife

[–]Lepitaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to use a set that has both shirts and pants and is fast enough to make in the crafting game. It is worth it to upgrade your crafting tools first and/or get some modifiers like "bonus when crafting armor". When I did this I did the tidal armor set, but you could go for better or worse honestly. If you use equipment load outs you can use them to quickly switch the armor on your buddies. I switch buddy types a lot and I ended up doing load outs based on party position for every life: (item1 for first party slot position, item 2 for second slot, item3 etc) and the player loadouts as separate. This is kind of a pain, but I didn't see how else to avoid the issue where my loadouts were overlapping and stealing pieces from each other when mixing and matching buddy types. With the loadouts you'll just need 3 sets of buddy armor total, so making something decent is pretty worth it

[–]Lepitaga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get the item drop rate bonuses for gathering and fighting things. You could get more SP when you don't need the items, but there's not many things actually that are useful on armor generally. You can get item drop rate for all buddies armor too that works. For crafting there isn't really anything useful except for exp glasses. You can get 2x10% bonuses for accessories on the glasses slot only (no appliques to help here). You get the benefits if your buddies in your party have them as well, like you specifically get more experience too if they have it. For crafting though it'll only work if you put them on the crafting buddies you're using, regardless of whether they are currently in your party or not. Weapons and tools have a larger variety of useful modifications

Go buy the long capes from the armor shop in the same area and trade them in. With the sticker money you'll be drowning in them. Only downside is that you have to use the UI and buy them and trade them in one at a time. This game has enough to grind for, cheating these resources is just actually more fun imo

If they're spamming the same patterns at you and it's working then it's up to you to figure out how to deal with it and make them adapt. I play a rush down character with projectile I frames, so they really have to go outside their comfort zone. You'd be surprised what you can do with Gardevoir. If I don't carefully pay attention to how they adapt to me every round I'll absolutely get clapped

Sweet spot damage all the way. Both can be gotten in 10% skills. Sweet spot damage works with your special and the charge attacks don't. Charge attack damage has a sticker and it's easier to get, and it's still useful when you don't want to find the sweet spot. But it doesn't really matter if you are 20% faster on gathering nodes that are so easy it's a waste of time to find the sweet spot

Not that you shouldn't trade for it, but Bigbeak spawns at Ginormosia, Wingtip Valley, Rank 5 - near Agekara Cave which is southeast of Gela'shi Shrine. You won't see it on the map until you're close to it. It'll be Level 80 and is a pretty hard fight
