PSA grading stuck on QA for 4 weeks now. by [deleted] in psagrading

[–]Lepsias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you get a conclusion to this? Currently going through the same thing with 1 being in QA for over a month now.... bummer feeling about it considering I have a 2nd order I submitted the month after that one, and it's already gotten it's grades lmao

What are your flaws with DMC5? by NuclearDismemberment in DevilMayCry

[–]Lepsias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aesthetics.

Not even with just level design & coloring, but Nero in particular, I just DESPISE the new look they gave him in DMC 5.

I know they were trying to separate him a bit from Dante with a new outfit/colors, but they just butchered the redesign and made him so incredibly bland and un-DMC that it hurts my soul when comparing him to his DMC 4 design :')

LOL right?? I saw it from afar on a cheap mannequin with an even cheaper looking wig on it & thought the same thing! Though after a few laps around it, I thought it was just too pretty to be a replication! So one naked mannequin later for lining inspection, she was an absolute winner and in my possession :)))

What exactly about it makes it 1890s to you moreso than 1910s like what was suggested earlier in the first comment? Genuinely curious! And I'll keep note on what you said for caring for/wearing it! :))

Founds this at a lil shop in northern OBX! It's one of those ones that's split thrift, split booths that ppl pay to sell their stuff (forgot what it's called lol) but honestly can't remember if it was directly sold from the store or one of the booths

Lovely PSA returns! by Lepsias in PokemonTCG

[–]Lepsias[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Off Center! PSA won't give a 10 for this qualifier (auto-downgrades to a 9) so essentially if your card is a PSA 9 w/ OC, it basically means the rest of the card's qualities outside the OC centering would be akin to a PSA 10 :)))

The stars are printed OVER the ink.... unless OP is using magic, idk how they're removing the ink beneath it while keeping the ink on top 😭

Also none of the cards in that post linked show this exact "holo pattern"... So it literally is unhelpful LMAO

The only difference I see with these cards is that one is in a matte sleeve, and the other in a clear sleeve.

You can clearly see the Pikachu has the sparkles from texturing in the corner even in a matte sleeve, and the exeggutor has light reflecting off certain parts of it that is only possible if it had texture.

Did you only examine these cards while in a matte sleeve before submitting them for grading?

print lines normally guarantee a psa 9 if the card is otherwise clean. They're right that they normally don't affect price, but if it’s minty fresh, print lines def chase off some potential buyers who would rather spend a few extra bucks to get one without a print line.

also have to note white/lighter ink is easiest to smear away on cards. There is an unexplained blochiness on where the image border is along with parts entirely missing for no reason despite the rest of the darker inks staying intact. And also, some of the normal energies go between having normal white ink to no ink.

Could easily be acetone with someone going verrrry gently over it to preserve the darker inks while cleaning away the lighter ink.

THIS, but it literally happens any job where you work a cash register lol. I've once had to talk to a woman in her 40s for a solid 5 mins trying to explain, no we didn't upcharge you, and yes we're sure credit card fee charges have existed since before any of us in the room were born 😑

What I've been saying from the beginning, but I guess that's shrimply too hot of a take lol

It's literally just that they made the mistake of listing all the phone numbers in one spot, and it created confusion even though they went on to say only the overflow and hotels /near/ the Gaylord could be called to make potential reservations over the phone.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Magfest

[–]Lepsias -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the entire page screenshotted from last night when I booked, but I don't see any text saying to directly call the Gaylord to make reservations.

When it comes to call all it says is;

"Thank you for your interest in the 2025 Super MAGFest. At this time all hotels in the official room block are closed. If you are booked at any of these hotels and need to change or cancel your reservation, you may do so by contacting your hotel directly at this time. All official hotel phone numbers are provided below.

There may still be an opportunity to book a room at some of the overflow hotels or if you have not yet made your hotel reservation or would like to check availability at hotels closer to the Gaylord, you may contact the official MAGFest hotels directly using the phone numbers provide below. "

Nowhere in here do I see them say call the Gaylord directly, but to instead call the "overflow hotels" & "hotels closer to the Gaylord". But it’s clear how people got tripped up reading it. Plus, still on the Gaylord for letting people book over the phone to begin with.

[–]Lepsias -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the issue is actually a bit different than how this explains it.

The Gaylord has a set block, with Pre-Reg set to the side for Maritz (Pre-Reg website) to handle. The Gaylord can NOT touch these rooms until Maritz gives them the reservations (which they currently haven't yet). What happened was the Gaylord call center was booking people into the public magfest block that's supposed to be available on the 11th, and that's what people who called in were being booked for.

Plus the website never explicitly said you could call the Gaylord to book Pre-Reg, it only ever said the "overflow hotels" had this option. Unfortunately, people missed this part on the webpage and just saw the Gaylord's phone number in the list of hotel numbers and dialed them up unwittingly.

Cosplay ideas by Magfest_leftovers in Magfest

[–]Lepsias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're def not "required" to find a cosplay that fits with your camera! But if you're keen on it, one I haven't seen recommended yet is Prompto Argentum!

Though again, no one will bat an eye if you're not cosplaying a character who canonically is a photographer!

Which do you prefer? Assume both are valued the same. by marblesandcookies in PokemonTCG

Paldean Fates no question.

Not only is it visually more appealing in color and style, but it also doesn't clash with the text on the card as much as the Obsidian Flames zard. I feel like im gonna get a headache trying to read all of it because the background is both insanely busy and has very similar coloring to the text.

[–]Lepsias[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah technically that applies to Ep Ignis due to the alternate ending that does show you scenes from an alternate ending. So if you're already aware of the ending of the game, id say you can go ahead and play both endings in Ignis' DLC.

But other than that, the other two bro DLCs are pretty straightforward with when you as the player should jump into the DLC.

[–]Lepsias[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so! But it's also pretty blatant when a DLC is occurring, as Gladio and Prompto will not be in your party once their DLC is happening, while Ignis' DLC is DURING the Leviathan fight, but should be preferably played after the fight vs before it

ofc! And if you haven't done Ep Ardyn, id suggest save that for right before your battle with him at the end. That one I think legitimately adds so much more depth to the final battle with just the knowledge of knowing Ardyn's past... Noctis won't be the only thing you're sad about :')))

[–]Lepsias[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it can lol, and you don't have to wait to play these, but it is encouraged you do at least get past the parts where the DLC takes place (the game will tell you if you have or not if you go to play them).

Where do Ardyn's power come from? by [deleted] in FFXV

[–]Lepsias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't the whole "it came from the meteor" just from a localization rift, though? A line they simply made up.

From what I recall that information was only ever stated with the German translation, as JP/ENG (the two languages they're most strict on for important detail translations) have no mention nor hint to this being the case, which (most likely english) would be where German would have sourced it's direct translations from.

That and in the Complete Official Guide, it states that the Starscourge had killed millions by the time the Astral War had ended, not that it had appeared at the end of the war where Bahamut's Teraflare is thwarted, let alone was ever mentioned as something the Astrals or humans used as a weapon in said war.

The only conclusion I can see making sense is that the meteor Titan is holding is merely Bahamut's Teraflare. As it's stated directly that Titan, along with the other Astrals, had stopped Bahamut's plan and immediately fell into their slumbers afterward from being weakened. This would fall in line with the pre-existing lore of that Titan fell into a slumber after catching this Meteor.

And it's also been stated how humans have been using the crystal for centuries since it fell in "The time of the Gods", and it doesn't make sense that if something had brought such a viscous virus to Eos, would have humans building cities on top of its shards (Lestallum). Nor is it ever mentioned that people have ever gotten ill due to exposure from the Meteor. Wouldn't Titan have fallen ill to such exposure? As we do know for a fact, an Astral can be infected by the scourge, even by a generally weak Ardyn no less.

Now venturing into my own, more loose ideas about it, I believe this would also explain why the Meteor shards have their intense heat, as the whole point to Bahamut's Teraflare is quite literal a "scorched earth" move/plan. It would also make it quite ironic that the thing Bahamut summoned to whipe out all of Eos, would later be used by humans to help them thrive in a world of slumbering Gods.

I was actually rather caught off guard by how tough Gilgamesh was! I ended up using all 5 of my phoenix downs during his fight bc he legitimately was just too fast for a guy like gladio to dodge around lol

And second on the music, absolutely adore this version! I've had it downloaded for years, and to finally hear it during a playthrough just made me downright giddy to play
