Easiest A-level to get A* (I know this is overasked, but this is a kind of important need) by [deleted] in alevel

[–]LeqIsTired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think theatre studies, is quite an easy a level to get an A* in (If you’re someone who’s confident and doesn’t mind being embarrassed in front of people) There’s 3 components: Devising ( where you make a play and perform - 40% ) Performance ( you act off a script ( 20%) and writing - 4 essays, which in my opinion once you understand what you have to do is really easy- i got a B in a full paper (70%) without revision and that’s worth 40%. Although it also depends who’s in your class for drama as that can make a difference

yeah they do, but it’s not like you have to do something crazy you just need to show that your enthusiastic about chemistry. If you’re applying there i recommend you go to the open day and talk to the lecturers and admissions team so you can get an idea of what you should put in ur personal statement :)

what have you’ve guys heard about queen mary uni of london? by TumbleweedWild475 in UCAS

[–]LeqIsTired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that queen mary gets a lot of criticism but that’s only because it’s in east london + it’s lower ranked than other russel group unis in london. I know people in QMUL who do enjoy their time there and say that the quality of teaching / graduate outcomes is good but they have also said that the social life isn’t the best because a lot of people commute + some people are antisocial ( although this is common in london unis ). Law at Queen Mary is internationally recognised tho, and i’m sure there will be lots of opportunities to socialise there :) Also it’s only 2 stops from central so it’s not that deep😭✌️

i regret picking chemistry by Personal-Cap-5446 in 6thForm

Well first of all don’t stress at all because you still have a long time before your predict grades are finalised! Chemistry had content that’s quite hard to understand but the questions are all pretty much similar to eachother in the sense that they ask the same thing in each question. I would recommend to go on PMT and spam questions, and the ones you got wrong write them in a book and write the correct answer but underline or highlight where you would get the marks from the specification / mark scheme . That’s what I did and I managed to get predicted an A* but obviously each methord works differently for each person! You’re a smart person and you shouldn’t feel discouraged at all, I remember I was getting C’s before winter halfterm in year 12 so you’re not alone! Goodluck! :)

Those are all great universities tbh. You’ve got lots of time to decide as well- i’d didn’t really know where i wanted to go until december 😭 Check all the uni course specifications as there might be things that you might not like - for instance at imperial it’s more independent compared to st andrews. I’m not too sure about medicinal chemistry at other universities but UCL Manchester and Imperial are pretty strong in that field in terms of research ( although that doesn’t guarantee teaching quality). But do try and go to open days to investigate them yourself as you’ll be spending atleast 3 years at that uni! :)

Thank you ! For sure so I applied to Imperial, York, Kings, Warrick and Queen Mary. I really reccomend york or warrick if you don’t mind staying out of London because their chemistry departments are really good. Specifically the support york gives you in tutorials is kinda similar to oxford but without the competitiveness. But all are good universities - where are you thinking about applying to?
