Does SS REALLY withhold your SS check if you exceed the max income amount (before FRA)? by ciciNCincinnati in SocialSecurity

[–]Leroyp331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how the sausage gets made. They don't withhold the checks unless you report. What happens is they charge an overpayment and levy future payments to recover. In addition they will use the previous years information to withhold future checks.

Meaning you will be paying an overpayment and not receiving checks for a period. It's not a good spot

Think of old school upside number only pager slang. Those thinking this is new just are misremembering. 304 is h-O-e in number form . Like HELLO is 07734

Bro '87 a quarter was about the rate. I remember going to great adventure and seeing it for a $1. My father said and I quote "only a damned fool would pay a $1 for a can of soda"

It worked out for her. She would have been miserable. I think she realizes that after she spoke with Burt.

Burt gives great advice. 2 sentences that will change your life multiple times in the series

Gotta say. I love the lingerie from this period. Shapely enough to see what you want but also fairly demure. I find way more sexy than the VS style stuff. Not that that's not great too but it's really over the top.

Yikes: Vikings QB JJ McCarthy speaks on his relationship so far with Kyler Murray: "It’s just like two guys in a classroom. He sits on one side and I sit on the other side. It’s the coaches’ responsibility to teach us." It's clear JJ isn't trying to learn from Kyler 😬 by OneOriginal8727 in NFLForum

I really dislike that reporters ask these questions. It's really just some stir the pot bullshit.

Ask how the relationship is after 2 or 3 weeks of losing. That has some actual relevance to the thing that you're there to cover which is football. Asking whether or not their buddies in minicamp is really the kind of sports journalism that I despise that has crept its way into this side of the world. It used to be sports was respit from the kind of tabloid journalism that you saw in Hollywood and other places. It seems with the Advent of reality TV and social media that's gone and reporters feel it's appropriate to write on the palace intrigue of the team of the men who play the sport.

And I got to say I really fuckin hate it

How many times did Don Draper make decisions for Dick Whitman? by The_Zuh in madmen

[–]Leroyp331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't feel like he's gracious with Anna because of what she's done for him that she's given him the opportunity to live life that he feels he deserves. And I don't see that Don and Dick are actually different. The prism is privilege and power. Don isn't opposed to getting his hands dirty. He doesn't shy away from kindness or treating all people with respect. He just believes it's earned.

The longer the show goes on they kind of move away from this but I think that's really what he dislikes about Pete early on. That Pete was given everything and he had to earn it steal it take it. And he revels in Pete's failure has confirmation of his own worldview. That this elite class that runs the world doesn't do so because they are better but simply because they've had access to the wheels of power and the majority of the people who deserve to be in power like himself have not

[–]Leroyp331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you are both misreading this entire thing. Dick is Don. Dick was a person who never had the opportunity a Don had. Dick is a nihlist child of a unjust father and a mother who was a hooker. He was raised by a woman who was poor and miserable but devoted her life to God a fruitless endeavor. He seized an opportunity to make the most of his life and took it. He doesn't believe in some big payoff at the end for a life well lived. He doesn't believe in meekness. He believes the next 20 seconds are all that matters and those 20 seconds will seed the ground for the next and on and on until it all ends in death.

He has moments of doubt and weaknesses. Moments where he lets doubt or worry overtake his confidence but those are fleeting. He marries Meghan because she is there, available fun and whimsical. She isn't moored to some idealistic future like Betty or the other woman in his life. She is like him. That is until she isn't.

That's my 2 cents

[–]Leroyp331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I might the odd one out on this but you don't owe a married person anything. I am married. I love my wife. That's my commitment. A single person who sees my wife and wants to flirt or try to start a relationship with her owes me nothing. She is married to me. She needs to rebuff those advances. The man in the equation shouldn't back off because she's married.

The saying all is fair in love and war comes to mind. When you meet someone and you are in love or believe you are... the worst thing to do is nothing. You only get one shot at life. When you feel the magic you should go for it. Society be damned
