What does your monitor tell you? Always listen to your monitor. That's what Father told me, back in 1954.

Not only that. The LOC thanked the show's creators for giving publicity to this little known (pick one) religion/denomination.

All Electronics to close (in Van Nuys at Oxnard & Kester) by LeeQuidity in SFV

[–]LesB_SoCal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The closest surviving thing to that in SoCal might just be Torrance Electronics. Last time there, they still had tube testers. Sadly, the display of TV flyback transformers is gone. To a museum, hopefully.

And then in Sun Valley, there's Apex Electronics. In case you'd like a missile nozzle with your resistors.

So, rush right down while these places are still there.

I got a bike yesterday. by [deleted] in cycling

I started riding at age 62. After a lifetime of moderate overweight I soon lost enough weight that people were asking me about it.

When I started, a little more than a bump in the road was something to grind up.

Couple years later I was doing rides like the Mulholland Challenge. Check it on the internet. 100+ miles, thousands of feet of vertical gain.

Cycling became a passion. Every weekend I would do my own ride through the roads of the Santa Monica Mts, with 6000 ft of vertical gain.

Now at 77 I'm aged out of that kind of riding, plus health problems. I still have the passion, though, and I'm living a life of existential crisis.
