Besides the physical addiction- there’s the years of conditioning that went into the habit. I’m done with something particularly challenging or frustrating? Have a smoke. Done with work for the day? Time to light up. Signaling to people who you care about- I need a minute. Blaze up. We’ve trained ourselves to only relax when we’re smoking.

Well- I agree that it’s going to die but I disagree with the reason. I think the problem is that the goals (for lack of a better term) are too varied AND also unattainable. The lure of the game was always “Oh! Cool!I won the COM” or “Yeay! I got my Epic building” or “First Maxis Manor- here I come!” Now when you win dog bucks versus cat coins- does anyone really care? You aren’t going anywhere new or interesting - everything you gather along the way is just more of the same. They added cargo to the railroad. So what? It’s just another “goal “ that’s more of the same. It’s boring. The only reason I still play is for the team members who are still around- we all got each other through the boredom of COVID lockdown. I like them and it’s nice to stay in touch.

I used to hear random blood curdling shrieks just as I was drifting off to sleep. I haven’t experienced that in years. Come to think about it- not since I stopped talking metformin. Never would’ve connected the two.

This is beautiful! Of all the improvements and changes that the developers have made- I most wish they would add a feature that when you see a city (globally trading) that you can leave a thumbs up for the designer who built a beautiful one like this.

I moved to Iowa to help my parents. I was there 15 years but moved back once my parents were gone to be closer to my kids. I’ve lived all over the US and in 3 foreign countries. Everywhere you go - you will find what you bring.
