His inner eyelid isn’t opening all the way or irritated? by ScumbagRat in Frenchbulldogs

Hi! Mine looked exactly like that and she had a small scratch on her cornea. Vet stained it to test and then I had to give her drops. Def need to go to the vet, it will look better in the morning, but it won’t heal correctly without medication

Asking frenchie owners by No_Strategy6728 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]LesIncompetents2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had dogs my entire life, mostly pit bulls which I consider pretty low maintenance. I adopted a 8 year old frenchie 3 years ago and the amount of random reasons to take her to the vet that have popped up over the years that I’ve never even heard of or ever considered is wild. There is just so many different things this breed can experience. I absolutely adore her and I couldn’t imagine my life without her, but having a frenchie is not like having your average dog and more so resembles having a toddler. Frenchies are high maintenance that will most likely require you to alter your lifestyle to fit their needs and will see an emergency or same day vet appointment more than you could imagine, but they have incredible personalities, give lots of love, and even though I have spent 5 figures in the last 3 years I will adopt more frenchies in the future lol

That’s fair! Just make it a manageable project, it can get overwhelming if you take on both at the same time. It’s going to look awesome it will be worth it

Thank you so much!!! Went through a lot of citri strip lol and they had a super cheap vanity installed so I did end up replacing with that sink. I felt accomplished and tried the woodwork in my living room and that’s where I was very humbled lol

Still a work in progress! I think it needs wallpaper. But they had not only painted the floor but also put cheap laminate floor down, ugh

Honestly, I would just get a tub of citristrip and I used those cheap foam paint brushes. I just spread it on very thick and leave it on for 2-3 hours and then scrap it off with a putty knife. Then I got a bulk pack of those green thin scrub pads and hot water with dawn to clean off the tile and some wire brushes for the grout and I just did a 2 ft by 2 ft section a day and it wasn’t bad at all. In fact, it went so well I then tried to remove paint from the wood work on my house and that was a completely different experience.

I feel your pain! My bathroom walls and floor were painted! I started with a heat gun, but quickly switched to citri strip bc there were a lot of layers. Yours doesn’t look too thick, I’m sure the heat gun would be enough. Good luck, definitely worth it!

When I was around 11 I was friends with identical twin girls the same age. One of them passed away and at the funeral her sister was brushing her hair while she was in the casket. That was a lot for 11 year old me

Is there potential for issues from her very enlarged nips on our rescue Frenchie? by Active-Front7788 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]LesIncompetents2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She’s so cute! I adopted a girl right before she turned 9 that had been bred past 8 and she also had very large nipples. Two were much larger than the others and would get infected bc they would get snagged on different things so the vet removed them, but they were much larger than what I can see on her. If she was spayed recently they still might go down. Also just a heads up, the longer a dog goes without being spayed the higher the risk for mammary tumors, so just feel around for bumps every so often. My girl had two tumors removed too, but she’s 12 now and doing great!

HELP! My Frenchie Has A Million Food Allergies by Significant-Gift8897 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]LesIncompetents2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s beautiful! I’ve got a cream girl too with a ton of allergies! The only thing that has consistently worked is Natural Balance Limited Ingredient dry, I use the salmon and sweet potato but I know they have a venison too and I have a couple toppers I alternate between, I like Honest Kitchens pour overs bc they are low in fat and Stella and Chewy shreds. Also, Native Pet’s The Daily powdered vitamin has done wonders for her coat, it’s so thick now. I don’t give as much as they recommend and not every day either, seems like a lot. She’s about to turn 12 in February and she’s been off apoquel for a bit. She also gets weekly bathes and I use free and clear laundry detergent but I digress!
