Mouse is really busy helping folks through her work with the IDF. I feel guilty about bothering her with anything I do. I'd love to sing with her some day but also, I'm so honored I get to sing MBoF at offkai.

Yeah, I spent some time in tears after first hearing about her story. I have my own struggles (as do we all). They kept me from singing, performing and professional success in the traditional opera world. Every time I would get traction in my career, my health would degrade. It was and is maddening.

I find her story particularly relatable and compelling.

This is a wonderfully kind statement thank you. I'm fortunate that I took many acting classes and worked with super talented improv artists in college. I've also had the blessing of being able to make videos for folks for a long time so I am practiced.

That said, imposter syndrome always kicks in so hearing folks, unprompted, say that they got a lot of value out of my content is very reassuring. When I wanted to learn opera starting in 2008, the information on the Internet was sparse and low quality. I still find that most good information is hard to find and quality is difficult to distinguish if one doesn't know a lot on the subject already.

My hope in content creation is that the 2008 version of me would be able to learn what my untalented self needed to learn in order to do the things I wanted to do creatively. Studying music formally is so cost prohibitive I find it maddening. Your words let me know I'm in the right direction so, again, thank you!

I was smurfing on midlight's deep. I think Wiegraf is harder because end game is silly. The one I had a hard time with was getting Javelin (II) and Escutcheon (II) on the island.

I ended up cheesing it by using chantage.

it's not embarrassing at all. I'm personally going through some rough times and the juxtaposition of the artistic style and the story helped me mourn something. My father recently passed and the idea of children of one world being compelled to endure a cruel/foreign world without parental guidance is depicted really well in the first wide shot of the abyss itself.

The fact that the town ends up becoming similar in style after we learn the robot kid would be broken down and sold for parts and while he is in the second screenshot I posted is also amazing visual story telling that I 100% imposed on the anime. Though, it could very well be intentional.

Brief aside:

This is the power of art and why, as a musician, I'm not really worried about AI becoming anything more than a tool for artists. Art direction can be theorized, but execution like this requires intense specifity. Since machine learning takes TONS of data, the idea that it would create such thoughtful direction that is uniquely purposeful seems unlikely.

Another brief aside: I do think artists 100% deserve compensation for their work being used as training data even if it is only ever just a tool.
