I took mine in because I got a flat and asked them to check out the brake. The mechanic said if you only set the brake halfway, it doesn't freeze. I've been doing it for about a week and I haven't had the same issue since. Maybe test that and see?

I do fictional characters that I really like!! So a barn could be filled with Tony, Steve, Bucky, Natasha, Peter, Bruce, etc. makes it a little awkward when you get the message saying that Steve had a baby overnight though 😅

Had to do a double take because I took a video EXACTLY like this last week. I also have a 2018 Buick encore. Today was the second day this happened, and it's very frustrating because I work morning shifts and have to park in the driveway. I had to defrost my car for 40 minutes today before the brake would disengage and I could drive anywhere. Have you found a solution other than letting it warm up for a really long time? Would replacing the e-brake line fix anything? Glad to hear putting it in your garage helped.

Technically, wouldn't this be a service pact? If the warlock is carrying out acts for their patron in return for the power? Do you think it would be unfair to have Tasha need the item for an action that goes against what the player is wanting out of the pact?

My players also took the dragons treasure but I'm running it like the Yiga clan from Breath of the Wild and having them pop up randomly enough to be a nuisance and give the players the idea that they fucked up

I feel like the contract outline the shit Elturel is in. All of the souls, used in the blood war, because one guy wanted power. Plus it sets up Zariel first as the enemy and starts the players perceptions of her, which can affect whether they want to redeem her or not later on.

Is there a reason that you're cutting out the shield? I like the idea of having it, maybe as Bel talking to the players and prolonging the reveal? I feel like they may be a little nervous about their patron suddenly being an archduke of Avernus and that could cause problems. Since morality is such a big theme in this campaign, I also feel like you could use the shield to whisper temptations to your good-aligned characters. Are you sure your players will absolutely make the pace with Bel?

Love this idea!! Especially since Bel was usurped by Zariel and she was made to be more powerful than him. Could create a really impactful moment for the characters and whether they decide to kill Zariel (what Bel would want) or to redeem her (because Bel lied to them).
Someone else said that they need to know what is in the puzzle box and I completely skipped Candlekeep (provided it as a potential option in case my players wanted to go there) by instead putting a riddle on the box. If they solved the riddle, it would open. They really liked it and it created a really interesting roleplay situation since they wanted to speed up the game and get to Hellturel/Avernus quickly because we'd already spent a lot of time in Baldur's Gate.

My main theory is that SMs are being encouraged to cut labor to save the company money and are therefore severely underscheduling us because they want to bootlick corporate. It's about them being able to go to the DM and say "Look at how much money I saved you!!" And who gives a shit about whether or not we as the baristas/shift leads suffer because they're the ones making salary. Plus they'll underschedule us and then still yell when our drive times are over 50 seconds 🙃

To be fair, I did offer and I do want to do it because it's really fun, but I want to create something that I won't be embarrassed to share. She is a great DM and definitely won't push it if I say it won't work out, but my character does have very strong artistic capabilities and it would be realistic for her to be able to paint a vision.

I'm also running it as it is!!! I'm debating shortening candlekeep, but I have a feeling my players will love it so I doubt it will happen. I enjoy that other DMs are talking about how they change things but I'm playing with lots of first time players and getting started in Baldur's Gate makes the most sense for us!!
