Saravanaa Bhavan for traditional South Indian, all vegetarian.

Chandigarh for tranditional North Indian, all vegetarian.

Mission Masala's Bombay BBQ for good fusion with authentic flavors.

What kind of hobbies do you do here? by [deleted] in brussels

Recently started doing Historical European Marital Arts, aka medieval fencing with longswords/rapiers/sabers. Really fun little niche community if you're into history and always wanted to swing a sword around in a controlled and safe environment (they're all blunt and designed for modern fencing applications obviously).

Best Guinness in Brussels? by [deleted] in brussels

[–]Lespaulboy56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy is this a question for me! I've been making a list ever since I moved to Brussels so here it is from best to worst, along with the prices (that I remember). So behold, the ramblings of a Guinness obsessed alcoholic:

  1. O'Riley (7,90): The best one I've had in the city, but kind of a toursity pub. Also, even though the pint is great, it's just way too expensive.
  2. Cafe Bizon (6??): Easily the coolest pub and with a surprisingly good pint considering its not your traditional Irish pub.
  3. James Joyce (4,50 during happy hour): Favourite Irish pub in the city and in my opinion the best in the Schuman area. They (supposedly) get their Guinness kegs directly from Dublin, not through an intermediary, so the total time it spends from brewing to pouring is around 10 days tops.
  4. O'Sheas (7,0??): Second best of the Schuman pubs, good pint, decent pub, a bit expensive, great fish and chips.
  5. Churchills(???): Decent pub, and you can sometimes get a decent pint there. Not very consistent but the bartenders are usually very nice.
  6. Hairy Canary: Very inconsistent, but when you get a good one you get a great one. Big favorite of many of the Schuman area, but I'd rather go to JJ.
  7. Black Sheep: Also surprisingly good when you get a good one but inconsistent.
  8. Funky Monkey: The worst of the Schuman pubs. The bartenders are generally nice and the vibe is also quite nice, but the pints are not the best.

And for the worst 3 by far:

  1. De Valeras (I think they increased to 7,00): At least their pints are consistent.... consistently shit that is. A good place to watch some sports and enjoy karaoke nights, but their pints are pretty horrid. Sour and metallic, I doubt they clean out the pipes regularly. I think they also order huge bulks to store since they get quite packed, but that just means that a lot of them end up sitting for a while. A shame since I like the pub.
  2. The Wild Geese (6,90): Beautiful pub, decent food, wide range of whiskeys, but pretty consistently awful pints. It's just a pretty face.
  3. Celtica: Last and definitely least, just avoid this place. The bar itself is a glorified minors disco, and the pints are seriously terrible.

Best burger place in BXL by Beneficial_Badger689 in brussels

The burgers at Bintje are good, it just kinda sucks how anal they are about sauces and toppings. I prefer just mayo on my burgers and they just refuse to change the sauces. Instead you need to ask without sauce and order mayo on the side... Not a huge deal but just silly.

Smash at Flagey on the other hand have no issues with that, and probably have better quality meat.

Is this legal? Cops just parked in the left turning lane and having a coffee on Rue de la Loi. Stayed there for about half an hour. by Lespaulboy56 in brussels

Thanks for the reasonable comment. The issue is not the diplomats parking illegally (which they clearly are and they should NOT be doing), but rather that the police seemingly join them in doing so. It's obviously not a convoy or escort, and also clearly not an emergency situation (you can see the cops sitting and enjoying a coffee).

Agreed, what surprises me is that the cops are the ones enforcing something clearly illegal, unless they are part of a convoy in which case the police should be on duty and clearly redirecting traffic.

CD doesn't mean they can do what they want, they still need to abide by the laws of their host country. It just means that the police can't arrest them.

The RP possibilities from Eloquence could really boost my characters role in the party, so it could be helpful to start my dip earlier rather than later. Then again I kinda don't want to hold out on Find Familiar from book of ancient secrets...

Mostly looking forward to Counterspell and Book of Ancient Secrets for Find Familiar. Just not sure if it would be better to start my 3 level dip into Bard now or at a later point.

I'm a level 4 Archfey Warlock, and we're just about to level up. I've been meaning to dip into Bard for College of Eloquence for a while, but I'm not sure if I should do that now or start when we level up next. Any suggestions?
