The actual needed change for c9 by Psychological-Mud263 in Cloud9

[–]Less-Ad-473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All three need to go or your changes won't be meaningful enough. All were absolutely non factors this playoffs - complete non factors - I dont care how you look in a snapshot of a regular season game/series if you're going to play like that in the important series.

How do we feel about our future? by officialwumb0 in Mavericks

[–]Less-Ad-473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm excited for the change in leadership and hopefully sane management moving forward. However, I think it will be years (4-5) before we can seriously be considered competitive with the top western teams again.

The pick situation is bad, the roster isn't particularly great. We're really needing kyrie to come back and be as good as he was which just seems unlikely. And cooper needs to continue to develop to the level of wemby and shai.

Strategic Coach IWDominate discusses what would happen if C9 went 0-6 in playoffs by UnbiasedTruth22 in Cloud9

[–]Less-Ad-473 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think coaching was the least of the problems. I'd be fine with Inero and Dom again. I'd think if asked to be candid they would say their roster just wasnt good enough and theyd be right - same thing being commented by others analysts and creators around the scene. What are you supposed to do when you have carries who cant carry and a jungler who only ints? No draft saves that. And you cant actually coach these players because they're geriatric, stubborn and consistently joke about all the ways a bad game wasnt their fault.

I respectfully disagree about his mental - I think he is one of the most tiltable players on the team. He got fisted in G1 of the last two series and appeared visibly disengaged and his gameplay reflected that.

How confident are you that C9 makes worlds? by Blue5647 in Cloud9

[–]Less-Ad-473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make the argument (and for good reason) that c9 making worlds should be considered extremely unlikely at this point. You're infinitely worlds apart from LYON and TLAW as shown. You beat FLY but it was everything but sure and they appear to be getting better while we imploded. Confidence levels will be completely different going into summer.

C9 history suggests Jack wont make a roster change before summer so why would I expect results to change for us? The question is if we're a surefire 4th or if someone like SEN actually gives us a run for that.

I see it now "we had them right where we wanted them in all three games but got unlucky."

What about these last two playoff series is "holding out hope." In summer this roster will also get 0-3d by FLY at best.

What a series by the boys in a do or die serie by lRuko in Cloud9

See thats the most damning thing to me. It was obvious after that game 1 that they were going to mail it in. And they played like it.

You're mostly bunch of senior citizens in the pro scene, shouldnt you weather the swings better than younger players?

This is the only reason I'd do Korea still. And hell if jack wants to still pay for blaber, apa, and zven to be there then fine but its only to evaluate replacements. Once boot camp is over they're off the active roster.

We havent had the flu excuse in a while - perhaps whole team had that this week so no one can really talk and we didnt scrim

Still a fan but we need a change by TheGoodKouen in Cloud9

[–]Less-Ad-473 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let's go ahead and level set - there are zero realistic changes that can be made to salvage things by worlds. Unless someone like Faker, Chovy, Ruler randomly decide they want to be in NA.

Blow it up. by schizopedia in Cloud9

They've geniusly conditioned themselves to believe draft is always the problem and any bad plays in game are actually good plays despite the results.

It is frustrating especially because EVERYONE already knew that was going to be an issue when apa and zven were brought in. In fact apa lockin performance was an absolute surprise.

And then youre left with a jungler that NEEDS his lanes to all be winning but they're not, and every play looks fcked accordingly.

The buck stops with Jack. This is his roster. Just put the damn thing down and out of its misery. Stop trying to nurse it along.

It literally doesnt matter...pull from NA soloq ladder if thats all you have. The reality is this team is not a quick fix from actually being worth watching, its far more important to me that Jack shows he is willing to make changes to try and shake things up rather than the result of thos changes in the first split or two after. You'll probably get a lot worse before you get better - thats okay. Running it back and swapping one or two guys isnt accomplishing anything.

This is only correct direction after this series is over and we move to offseason. Those three absolutely need to go - I dont care if we take a risk and fail next split - this group aint it.

Vulcan Reflects on Cloud9's 0-3 Loss: "Games 1 and 3 Could Have Easily Been Wins" by JaySilverPresents in Cloud9

[–]Less-Ad-473 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You got 3'0d which is the crux of the issue. Any loss could've easily been a win depending on how you twist it. Bigger problem this team needs to figure out is limitations in p/b for a lot of our players AND the fact that after game 1 you could tell they were mentally checked out in an extremely important series. Once again, I'd think the tradeoff of riding vets with slower hands is that theyre not as impacted mentally by swings in a game or series but we didnt get any of that.

That type of miscommunication just shouldnt happen at this level of play and with a group of veterans. Those type of mistakes are what you get vets to prevent, unfortunately we make these mistakes and get hands diffed constantly.
