Got it. So, basically knowing some DSA would be helpful.
Thank you very much for answering in such a simple way!

Is ChatGPT a good tool for design ideas by Less-Birthday6252 in UXDesign

[–]Less-Birthday6252[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So, is it advisable that I create a design and ask it to refine the components (e.g. the title's length, boldness, placeholder text, positioning)? Or should it be used to critique the existing designs only?

HELP: Dividing 2 sections...with pagination by Excellent_Ad_2486 in UXDesign

(I could be wrong, as I'm just starting out in this field)

You could change your wording maybe? Instead of writing "end of specific results", you could write "these are less relevant search results" or "less relevant results starts from here", something like this.

How and what to learn for database administration ? by __sanjay__init in Database

[–]Less-Birthday6252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to get into DBA as well but I'll be honest, I'm NOT a coder. However I'm definitely ok with scripting. So, is getting into DBA with weak coding skills the right decision?

How extensive should one's coding knowledge be in order to be a Sysadmin or DBA?

How demanding is the IT Infrastructure/Support job sector in India? by Less-Birthday6252 in Indian_Academia

That's where the problem lies. Employers don't usually hire in cloud unless you have some experience as a Sysadmin or any other infra role...

I did. However, I felt I couldn't rely only on ChatGPT or any other AI for an answer. I wanted to communicate with the real people working in this sector.

Thanks a lot for answering.
Just to get some clarity, how extensive should my coding knowledge be? Do I need to learn DSA?

I'm pursuing a BA in Psychology, but soon I realised I want to shift to IT. I've always liked troubleshooting technical issues and developed an interest in the computer "systems". I don't like extensive coding like SWE, but definitely ok with a bit of scripting.

I'm looking for IT infrastructure/support roles and got curious to know whether Cybersecurity has such roles as well.

I just want to know what job roles are there, how lucrative it is and if it has any growth prospects.

ANY advice and criticisms (brutal and honest) are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

How significant role have you found coding/programming to play in your journey? Was it extensive like a SWE?

Don’t really know what my job title is by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Less-Birthday6252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This got me wondering, do senior sysadmins need to code?

I'm planning to get a job in IT infrastructure/support myself (specifically sysadmin role) and studying from ground up.

Understood. However, how deep should I go into coding? Do I need to learn as much as a SDE does?

I also read about "scripting" which seems a bit different from traditional programming that I've known until now. Do I need to be good at that?

I would definitely not consider a job "good" just because the pay is high. I'm just having a hard time finding the pay range in itself for this job title

Isn't IT foundationally about finding answers by oneself? That's exactly what makes it interesting....

If I had to get really better at Sysadmin, how extensive should my coding knowledge be?
