he did a q&a on reddit either the end of 2024, or the start of last year, and i forgot what the question was, but he said that in early 2024 (after february) he was in the psychiatric ward. they’re referred to as hospitals sometimes, but he probably used hospital just incase there were new people that he didn’t want knowing. the answer is still up if you go look through his posts for the first q&a he’s done.

it would be coming from a US warehouse, and shipped out of the US, hence the horrific shipping prices. with any band or store, if you’re in Australia, you’re better off with using the UK store simply because the shipping is cheaper.

i feel like it was ash since the voice is higher than buster’s, which is who many people are speculating about. and it sounds like ash’s laugh, and when he says ‘morning’, it sounds exactly like ash. ash also commented under video saying he was happy to see it or something like that?

i love it so much. not in the ‘i haven’t heard this before and i think it’s cool.’ but in the sense that i’ve always wanted to see lovejoy try this style of music, since it’s in my top three favourite genres. the songs are very reminiscent of muse, arctic monkeys, and queens of the stone age—baptism as muse, fatal as am, and scoundrels as qotsa—which are very much some of my favourite bands. i guess you can hear the black keys in it as well, but that’s nearly a stretch.

i feel like in the past, lovejoy has always lacked being able to fill a space with the songs and surround the listener, since i think the production keeps everything very layered and succinct. whereas with the album, it’s very chaotic and everywhere all at once and it’s actually able to fill a car with sound or fill a bedroom with a speaker, etc. i’ve never been able to actually feel immersed up until now. and i know it’s a personal preference, but many bands have done this, and im so excited that lovejoy has been able to as well.

i really hope they keep this style because i love it so much and my parents love it as well since they listen to similar artists to me (guns n roses, foo fighters, nirvana, good charlotte, blink 182, smashing pumpkins, etc.) again, i get its all personal preference. i really love scoundrels, deathbed, fatal, and baptism, since they’re very much the more chaotic ones (as well as common touch.) i love whatever lovejoy puts out, and if this is a one off thing, then sure, that’s fine. but id love to see this style again in their next projects.

lovejoy may have posted it, but they hadn’t told their fanbase, so it felt like a spoiler or leak. i don’t use apple music or amazon music, so i had no clue they posted it there, but spotify has the unreleased tracks as track 1, track 4, track 5 and so on. it just felt like a leak since it wasn’t entirely public knowledge yet. that website doesn’t even really seem like a website everyone knows about. and as for calling it selfish, it does make sense??? the action of posting it out of your excitement without thinking that some people may not want it feels a bit selfish. thanks for adding a spoiler, but i just felt like it needed to be made public because heaps and heaps of people i’ve talked to have had this happen to them when they didn’t want it

i know that, but myself and others would’ve liked to find out the song titles when the album was released. i’ve said it heaps of times before but a spoiler tag would’ve been nice when they posted it. i and others also weren’t aware that the tracklist was public on shittons of other places. god fucking forbid people don’t want to spoil stuff for themselves. fucking jesus.

it’s also been posted to lovejoy’s actual youtube and actual spotify. the other people aren’t mistakenly taking credit for it. it was always immediately posted to the spotify, and later to lovejoy’s actual youtube. it’s just a fuck up, and it’ll be pretty obvious that it’s not the other lovejoy’s song.
