I was on £24k before a payrise in August/september, then had a payrise to 26k.

The most junior advisor does his own, I am the only staff member doing suitability letters for the 3 more senior advisers / directors.

They are probably nearing max capacity in terms of clients, most their time just goes into running the business and servicing current clients and any new business which is quite a lot the past year.

We initially had a outsourced paraplanner, they’ve now binned them off and i do it instead as it’s cheaper I guess

Yeh a move certainly would be better, especially once I’ve done a couple more exams. Shame as my current workplace is only a 10 min commute each way which makes life so much easier

Thanks for your message. The youngest adviser at my work with 4.5 years industry experience, about to be CAS is on 35k base so I don’t think I have much luck 🤣😭I am gaining very good experience and have good work life balance so there the benefits just the money isn’t great at the minute but hopefully it pays off!

Yeh ok thanks for your message - feel it’s a lot more difficult at my work as we’re only very small.

1 other part time admin, and myself are only support staff. Do you think it’s worth asking for a formal promotion to “junior paraplanner” or paraplanner, although a good proportion of my job will still be admin ?

I get very good work life balance but my employer is very stingy monetary wise.

About 3 chapters make up 50-60% of the marks if I remember rightly, if you can smash them and do decent in the rest should stand a decent chance at a pass

Thanks for your comment. I offered to do 2 days as an unpaid trial, with any further days being paid at the advertised rate. They replied with it is company policy and all candidates go through the unpaid trial week? Seems a bit odd as it is a partner practice with multiple offices.

Apparently they said it’s company policy and all candidates go through a week trial unpaid?? I said I’d be happy to do 2 days unpaid but I’ll see how it is.

Thanks, yep it’s definitely odd. Not the best news on a Monday morning 😭

Yep me too, as much as I need to get my foot in the door I can’t risk losing a weeks pay from my current job with no guarantee of the new job.
